Hello! How’s it going? I made it home sweet home yesterday and the only thing I did all day was write that Hood to Coast recap.
I had an early flight so I grabbed breakfast at the airport. I walked through the terminal and assessed all my breakfast options before deciding that McDonald’s oatmeal was the healthiest and cheapest breakfast situation at the Portland airport.
Other healthy breakfast options I saw:
Starbucks oatmeal – but I’ve always been disappointed in their oatmeal that’s basically a packet and often watery. Plus, more expensive.
Café with omelets. This was more expensive and I could tell take longer than my patience budget would allow.
Grab and go yogurt and a bag of trail mix. I was craving something ‘cooked’ or warm so I skipped this one.
Monday Run (but not really)
This morning I attempted to go for a run. My quads are still tight and I need to shake them out to stretch. But, I kept getting stopped by phone calls that I had to take Oh well.
I did catch some solid running advice while I was out…
Breakfast busted! I watched from my makeshift coffee table in front of the TV.
Lunch will probably be a meatless Monday dish thanks to the convenience of salad hits and canned beans. I love it.
Motivation to Run:
I LOVE this and really need this advice right now…
Question: What’s on your exercise and meal plan for the week?
I didn’t plan since I was going to go out of town again, but that fell through so I’m scrambling to figure it out!

I just picked up those same exact beans at Trader Joe’s this morning (and I went on a job/sort of run- trying to get out there!)

Feel like I’ve eaten so much fried foods in the past week. I need some simple, steamed things this week. And I need to lay off the sugar.
Natalie @ Never Serious Blog says
I just got back from a very gluttonous vacation, so on my agenda this week is just getting back into my running routine!

Whoooaaaa that quote is actually SO MOTIVATIONAL! I love it and I’ve saved it to my computer.

I got some major food prep done yesterday for the week and it feels oh so good!! All the veggies and fruit are washed/chopped, made and froze a batch of DIY uncrustables for the kids, cooked up a batch of quinoa and stocked up on lettuce for my go-to salad for lunch. I’m really a better (less frantic, less yelling) mom when I prep!

I love motivation like that. A good kick in the rear is always in order. I have lots of salad goodies and lean meats cooked up for the week. School just started so it is back to 5:30am lifting/cardio sessions. Yay!

My plan for the week is hydrating and resting — relay this weekend 🙂 You’ve got me stocked with all your reviews and Insta-inspiration 🙂

McDonald’s oatmeal is the jam. I love all the stuff they put in it, that little packet of fruit and nuts makes me so happy. I actually started tailoring my homemade oatmeal to match McDonald’s…which might be a sign that I am extremely uninspired on my own.
Anyway, on the exercise plan for this week is: FINALLY getting back to a normal running schedule. After 2 months of 20 minute runs 2-3 times per week due to injury, I am feeling good enough to get back into it a little. I’m still going to be cautious since my heel is still healing (and heeling I guess, technically speaking) and I don’t want to overdo it and be stuck doing pilates only for another month. (Abs look good, but going insane).
Food this week is easy breezy. I got very into making legit meals last week so this week I’m sticking with some old standbys in an attempt to make my evenings a little less hectic.

I’m starting a running plan and lifting plan this week but I’m playing it by ear.. or by baby. Also, lots of Clean but delicious recipes! Twix Pie will be up tomorrow!

This week is a mess. I have after work plans most nights and I am traveling next weekend. I plan to squeeze in a high intensity strength workout tonight, run tomorrow morning and Wednesday morning, then play sand volleyball on Thursday.

I’ve got a couple of small runs and then a longish tapering run this weekend before ventura full. I’ve also started my 2 week carb load today.
Julie @ Run Away Freckles says
The plan for this week is some speed work, a 10 run and some boot camp!

LOL love that sidewalk running advice! I agree with you about Starbucks oatmeal, always been way to runny for me. I ended up having McDonalds at the Santa Ana airport after BlogFest.
I am feeling so BLAH because I’ve been sick and I KNOW rest is best for me, but all I want to do is workout. That’s literally all I want – and I know rest is best…. but still.
sally @ sweat out the small stuff says
I have no plan…no food in the house. I know i’ll be hitting up the salad bar at the deli most days for lunch at work and dinners will be whole wheat pasta with turkey meatballs all week possibly as that’s all i got! LOL!
Exercise-wise i’ll run a few miles tomorrow, thursday and saturday. My mind is mush and I can’t be to elaborate. Just gotta keep the fitness level at par =)
So you travel plans fell through but you got a cute vegas/suitcase pic. #winning

I have to stay far away from that McDonald’s oatmeal. I think the sugar + carbs make me feel like absolute shit, so I typically just do the egg white delite if I have to, or sometimes they’ll make me an egg on an english muffin, which usually will tide me over until I can find some real food.
Becky @ Olives n Wine says
I had my 16-mile marathon training run this past weekend and I’m dropping down to 14 this weekend. My plan is to run and run some more with a bit of Body Pump thrown in 😉

Brain fart!! Why in the world have I never thought to add canned beans to my salad??? Love them when I get salads from restaurants….DUH!! Thanks for that awesome idea. Now if I can only remember to follow through!
Ashley @ A Lady Goes West says
Airport food can be hit or miss. Looks like you made a good choice.
This week I’ve prepped some overnight oats for breakfast, cottage cheese, fruit and nuts for snacks, big salads with chicken for lunch and will be winging it for dinner … usually a combination of veggie noodles, fish and taco leftovers from the weekend. As far as fitness, I’m teaching a few Les Mills group fitness classes and doing my own weightlifting in the gym. I’m also planning to take a few full rest days over the holiday weekend, which I’m in need of for real.
Have a wonderful Monday! 🙂
Aaryn @ Insert{Life}Here says
I meatless Monday-ed it up breakfast style with an egg scramble topped with beans and a freakton of Tapatio. Anything is alright with beans and Tapatio.
kristin @ W [H] A T C H says
my lunches are looking a lot like yours — salads with some kind of canned beans. always trying to think of creative combos!
