Hello! How are you doing? I’m pretty excited because I got a really awesome StitchFix delivery last week and wanted to share the loot. Sometimes I skip StitchFix Reviews if I just start wearing the clothes right away and don’t have time or don’t keep most of it, but all the clothes in this box were ‘me’ so my review and thoughts on the latest SF fashions are below.
But first, let’s talk running…
This morning I was up bright and early to drop someone off at the airport and planned on running right after that. So I was dressed to run and had my ‘running stuff’.
Except when I got to the running path I realized… I FORGOT MY HEADPHONES. #Fail
Fun Fact: I used to NEVER run with music.
When I first started running I would watch TV while on the treadmill. And when I started to run outside I just didn’t have an ipod or anything so I just ran with my head movies. But a few years ago I finally got an ipod. And more recently I’ve become obsessed with podcasts. So, it was really hard to run with my thoughts again.
Luckily, I pushed through the weird things bouncing around in my head and ran almost 10 miles.
StitchFix Fashion Delivery Review #12
My latest StitchFix was right on the money. I got casual tops = a staple in my wardrobe.
And a cute black dress that’s perfect to fill the “Little Black Dress” category in my life.
Let’s start with that LBD…
This is the Quinna Lace Sheath Dress
I love anything striped (something I kinda didn’t know about myself until recently, I thought I was all polka dots all the time).
So I was happy to see this Adda Lace Detail Knit Top.
I don’t know if I really love green or everyone tells me that’s the color redheads should wear so I do it, but either way… this Scribe Ruffle Front Blouse is comfy and ‘my color’.
Similar in Pink // Similar Ruffle Blouse in Print // Ruffle front with cap sleeve and rucching
Also, I am terrified of getting more freckles on my shoulders so I really appreciate any top with a sleeve of some sort. This Montrose Embroidered Top is super cute and has a little sleeve action.
How does this fit into my capsule wardrobe?
Well, first of all I have stained 2 things. Okay. I stained my go-to white top and actually another StitchFix dress I had in my closet was stained when I went to put it on the other day. Boo.
So I am replacing those two items and will get rid of two tops to keep my capsule wardrobe.
See ya later!

I’d never heard of StitchFix before this post. What a cool idea! I’m wearing a moisture-wicking, pink Nike tee & black Champion capris because I just got home from the gym for the first time in waaaaay too long. (P.S. I can’t even imagine running 10 miles. Props to you!)

That green top is ALL you!!! I think it may have been made specifically for you.. LOL

Ha! Thank you 🙂 I really like it.

Everything looks super cute on you! The green top is def my fave.
Sue says
The green ruffle top looks best among all the Stichfix loot. Sorry…I just didn’t like the rest -they were either too plain (LBD) or I didn’t like the lace on the striped top or not outstanding. Oopss sorry I sound too critical…it’s just me.
runeatrepeat says
Love the feedback, totally valid. I think the stripe/lace top is cuter in person, it’s hard to see. But yeah I gotcha 🙂
Daisy @ Fit Wanderlust Runner says
Your stylist sure seems to get you because other people that I know who have tried this don’t have the same luck as you’ve had.

I am very clear when she sends things I don’t like i.e. “I would never wear white jeans.” And am specific about the colors and cut I like. I think that’s the key, not to just say “I don’t really like flowy tops…” but to say “I loved this top because it highlighted my xyz and hid my trouble area abc and the color works because of…” ya know?
The next thing I should do is try to get better about Pinterest. That helps them a lot too.

Ooh I love that striped shirt! Great fix! I have been meaning to try it… I need some help in the style department lately. 😉

I’ve been seeing a lot of StitchFix reviews lately and I’m absolutely loving that green top and the little black dress. Maybe it’s time I sign up for StitchFix.
AdjustedReality says
Cute stuff! I especially love the green shirt and the LBD on ya.
I almost never run with music nowadays. Exceptions are: 1. treadmill (cruel and unusual torture without music) 2. the second half of long runs or 3. sometimes speedwork during marathon season (during tri season I go without since I have to race without).
Serenity says
Why didn’t you just get headphones from the gas station?
Christine @ BookishlyB says
I’m trying to find a nice way of saying “eff the damn Capsule Wardrobes, they’re more trouble than they’re worth, buy what you want.”
Your hair looks great in these pictures.

I will have to check out Stitch Fix. I am wearing the clothes I wore to the gym…black shorts and a black t-back tank top. I went shopping after the gym, so I threw on a plain white t-shirt to be “presentable”. I’m liking the ruffles. Wonder if it draws attention to the chest line, since I have no boobs anymore, I feel like I’m a pancake flat top. :-/
Laurel Poole @blonde and a brit says
A black pencil skirt (which after further review appears to be ready to go in the trash…fade city) and a frilly, sleeveless blouse. Work clothes…bleh.
sally @ sweat out the small stuff says
the same thing i wore yesterday (t-shirt and capris) 🙁 i haven’t even showered yet. Been working from home and not left my sofa/laptop all day.
Alison (Fueling for Fitness) says
I hardly ever run with music these days. I guess when I’m running with friends, I don’t use them and when I run alone, I’m usually trying really hard not to get lost because we’ve been moving around so much that almost every solo run has been a relatively new route! I always have trouble focusing on podcasts – I like the idea of them, but I’ll tune it out by accident and then I have to stop and rewind it to pick up where I left off. 😛
I love the green shirt on you! My second favourite is your LBD.
Julie says
Sounds like you like StitchFix! I’ve been tempted to try it — I hate shopping, plus I live in an area with not very much to offer, fashion-wise 🙁

Love what you got in your box! I actually got the Scribe Ruffle blouse in my last month’s fix! Don’t be a dummy like me and toss it in the dryer though, it warps the ruffle part and I had to go in and iron it out with my hair straightener (#toocheapforaniron).
