Las Vegas – Minor Details

Since I am going to keep the major details on the down low, here are the minor details of my Vegas trip…IMG_5695

At one point I had to eat half a banana for a game. Don’t ask.IMG_5737

Then, we had some many adult beverages and went out. IMG_5782

It was good times and I managed to ignore my foot pain (previously mentioned beverages helped).

IMG_5781

For some reason we didn’t remember to take many pics until the end of the night when we were already sweaty.IMG_5810

Who is this guy? And why didn’t I zoom in on my friends?IMG_5811

Today we ate at the Grand Lux Cafe at the Venetian before we drove home to CA. Ha, look at this guy waving at the camera! Now you’re on the internet buddy, who’s funny now? Hehe, I wish I told him to check out the blog 🙂IMG_5829

This place reminds me of Cheesecake Factory and has a huge selection on the menu. I finally decided on this salad with tuna.IMG_5815

We started with bread and I ended up eating two pieces.IMG_5817

I also ate one of the sushi rolls Susan ordered as an appetizer. It was okay. I think I just wasn’t in a sushi mood?IMG_5819

Here is my grand ensalada! It was huge and I loved it (that’s what she said).IMG_5821

Susan (who apparently is quite the bad food influence!) got an order of chocolate chip cookies. This dessert comes with 12 freshly baked cookies in a to-go box. IMG_5823

Wow!  Let me just say Susan was right about these being pretty amazing.IMG_5825

I flew into Las Vegas, but drove back home with a few girls. I realized how much I miss all my good ol’ California road trips. You cannot beat this scenery!IMG_5836

I picked up some snacks for the road:IMG_5838

Now I am barely hanging in. I didn’t do any exercise today, but my legs feel so tired from dancing last night in heels that I have no business wearing. Until next time Las Vegas…IMG_5832

I will miss you…IMG_5833

And so will Susan 🙂

(I don’t know why we’re smiling here, we both just lost money.)IMG_5826

Weekend Food  in Review:

Overall, the weekend was very indulgent. I ate a lot of higher calorie/higher fat foods and drank A LOT. And now I’m at my mom’s where I can often over-indulge as well. So, the plan is to:

1. Walk every day and do hip exercises and abs

2. No sweets and no eating after dinner

3. Only whole foods for snacks

But – I am not going to beat myself up about the weekend either. I really only drink a lot for special occasions. And I do feel like most of my eats were consumed when I was hungry (there was some drunk munching in there too though).

Oh well. I had a blast and girls weekends don’t happen very often!

I eat that salad once a year when I go to the Grand Lux Cafe in Dallas – you know they are the same company as C. Factory, right?
Looks like you had a blast in Vegas!

I think you looked beautiful in that pink dress!! I’m going to Vegas for the first time in August to celebrate my 30th birthday and to see Garth Brooks. It’s going to be a ladies weekend and I’m SO excited! 😉

Ha! I know, right. Or maybe it’s just that my friends don’t give me much competition.

It’s okay to have weekends like that – we ALL have weekends like that! The best thing is that you are getting right back into your healthy ways! The worst thing you could do is continue eating indulgently.

      Those cookies looked really good!

I like Grand Lux too because there aren’t ads on every single page and a smaller selection (at Cheesecake I spend about 20+ mins trying to decide then keep flip flopping!). The salad looks awesome and sadly, you’re right. East coast scenary is blip compared to the west coast. I miss mtn landscapes!!

I heart randoms in pictures 🙂

Sounds like you had a ton of fun! It’s one weekend–you’ll get back in the routine when you get home.

So hurry up and get home–we have some mall walking to do, sister.

Don’t set yourself up for failure, you had such a wonderful weekend, beating yourself up for the rest of the week kind of ruins the point of living in the moment. That’s how you fell off the wagon before, you were too strict, then you beat yourself up, then you go too strict again…

I was also going to say that Grand Lux is owned by Cheesecake Factory, but someone beat me to it :). You do look very pretty in all of these and like you are having fun!!

You only live once. And what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas. The point is you enjoyed yourself.

Don’t stress over your indulgence. What’s done is done. I think it’s okay to splurge on special occasions. Like you said, you don’t do it all the time! Have fun at home!

BTW, Grand Lux Cafe is actually owned by the Cheesecake Factory! I prefer it b/c the menu doesn’t include 1000 advertisements =)

You look totally glowing/happy in these pictures Monica! I am the same way when I’m with friends I think — they seem to bring out the best in us. And indulgent weekends out are a part of life, especially if you’re in Vegas. I like your plan for the rest of the trip, sounds like a good balance to me!

I have a rough time not over-indulging in Vegas. But like you said, you don’t do it often!
