Run Eat Repeat

A good walk with an old book and food gifts

Lunch

15 Jan

I had to cut out of my test early to make the doctor’s appointment. So, I basically just did my best with the time I had and turned it in. The doctor said I wasn’t dying (I told Ben if I was he should spread my ashes California). I have the first signs of bronchitis, but can probably fight it off with rest and more Mucinex. He also prescribed an inhaler to help my lungs, but I’m on the fence about getting it.

After the test and appointment I was a bit frazzled. I ate lunch (leftovers of Panera and salad)…IMG_4141

and some cherries for dessert 🙂IMG_4143

and then took a nice walk with an old book – Geneen Roth’s “When you eat at the refrigerator, Pull up a chair“. I’ve had this book for years and really love Roth’s approach to intuitive eating. She is really honest in all her books too. If you don’t have a problem with roller coaster dieting or binge eating – you probably wouldn’t get it, but if you do I highly recommend all her stuff.IMG_4152 Ben’s mom had to ship our Christmas gifts since we were just doing carry-on luggage when we went to Florida. Yesterday we got all our loot plus some extras! She added in a few food gifts like this meat and cheese box:IMG_4145

I am mostly interested in this cheese…IMG_4146

and these mustards… Cranberry mustard – this can be really good or really bad 🙂IMG_4147

And this Irish Whiskey cake. IMG_4148We opened it up last night and I had a piece. It is actually really good! I didn’t expect much from a boxed cake, but it’s super moist. It kinda reminds me of something I made in my easy-bake oven for some reason (but in a good way, if that’s possible).IMG_4151Now our house is in shambles and I have to clean it before I have a break down (usually I can live in a mess, I don’t know what’s up with me?).

Question: Anyone have cool plans for the weekend?

Me: We are meeting up with some friends for a couples game night tomorrow. I’m excited 🙂 Other than that…nope.

Nothing exciting for me 🙁 I’m leaving California and going back to Upstate NY… not too excited about that but I’ve been here for quite a while I suppose…
Hope you feel better soon! Get lots of rest!

I have an inhaler that I’ve only used a couple of times and it’s been a life-saver! I say just get it and try a puff like Julie mentioned. (Wow! I sound like a pusher!) TRY IT! TRY IT! It’s such an amazing feeling to breathe!

I’m going to check out that book–hopefully the library has it!

I was going to run 10 miles tomorrow but I did it today instead so my weekend looks pretty open (besides the usual weekendy stuff).
      Have a great one!

The title of that book cracks me up. Especially because 5 minutes ago, I was standing at the open fridge eating anything I could get my hands on. I won’t tell you what I ate, it’s embarrassing.

Get the inhaler and just try it…it can give you the shakes if your not used to it, so start out taking one puff at a time, not the usual two. It really opens up your lungs and loosens the creepy gunk thats all up in there.
I have zero cool plans for the weekend, except a 70th bday party for my uncle. No, you cannot be my friend, I already have faaaar too many 😉

Oh I’m sorry you’re ill 🙁 at least it isn’t terminal eh!!??
I’m doing a 13mile training run tomorrow, then going to the cinema in the evening – hardly exciting!
      Hope you feel better soon!
