Best Food in Las Vegas

Even though we didn’t crawl into bed until 3-ish last night I woke up at 6:30am?! I hate myself a little for that. I made myself stay in bed until 8-ish. Then, I contemplated going to the gym. But we had to get going soon so Ben went to get food and I got ready.

This is what he brought back for breakfast: gatorade, iced coffee, pizza and a chocolate almond bear claw. Breakfast of champions people who enjoy tight pants.IMG_2907 (800x600)

IMG_2908 (600x800)

In a weak attempt to pretend that this trip is healthy on some level I busted out my yogurt and cereal.IMG_2912 (600x800) But, I realized I was in Vegas and threw this ish out for some bear claw. I love the taste of bear in the morning Winking smileIMG_2910 (800x600)

Then, we packed it up and went in search of my Refuel with Chocolate Milk meeting.

I’m such a weirdo…IMG_2913 (800x600)

IMG_2919 (600x800)

IMG_2920 (800x600)

I did some silly things for the cause, but it’s nothing I haven’t done before…IMG_2922 (600x800)

By this time it was after 1pm and Ben and I were HUNGRY. We wanted A LOT of good food and headed to Hash House a Go-Go

Ben spotted this B.L.T. Mary and had to try it

IMG_2925 (800x600)

I’m not a bloody mary fan, but I tried it. It was good – super flavorful, but not too spicy.

IMG_2933 (600x800)

Since we’re out of town and can’t keep leftovers we decided to share the fried chicken and bacon waffles.IMG_2935 (800x600)

IMG_2936 (600x800)

There were full on slices of bacon right in the middle of the waffle. It was definitely ridiculous.

IMG_2937 (800x600)

Adam from Man V. Food was here and I totally remember the episode. (Yes, I just realized I watch way too much food TV.) Here is a clip of the Hash House a Go Go episode.image

IMG_2938 (800x600)

Demolished.

IMG_2942 (800x600)

IMG_2943 (600x800)

We were even harassed by a few new friends at the bar about our huge clean plate. Hopefully, they’ll write an email to Adam nominating me to be his next co-host.

IMG_2944 (800x600)

After this feast we headed to Ghiradelli for a meet up. IMG_2951 (800x600)My little peeps – Janae and SkinnyRunner

 IMG_2948 (800x600)

Oh, I almost forgot I was here for a race and realized I needed to get my bib.

IMG_2988 (600x800)

I hope Amway’s Nutrilite peeps will send me to Kara Goucher’s house one day…

IMG_2958 (800x600)

IMG_2960 (800x600)

The Rock N’ Roll series is doing international races now! Running in Madrid?! Where do I sign?!

IMG_2962 (800x600)

I ate a granola bar. This isn’t news. But it is carb loading.IMG_2964 (800x600)

On the way back I heard “free sample” from 72 yards away from Godiva…IMG_2971 (600x800)

The sales girl said this tasted like Christmas because it’s peppermint and white chocolate. But, I thought Christmas tasted like tamales and egg nog?!

IMG_2970 (800x600)

Finally we tried to find out way back to our hotel.

IMG_2972 (800x600)

We caught a bit of the Stiletto Dash!

IMG_2976 (800x600)

After a pit stop in the room we went to dinner at Chin Chin. Carb loading time!

IMG_2986 (600x800)

IMG_2978 (800x600)

IMG_2977 (800x600)IMG_2981 (800x600)IMG_2982 (800x600)IMG_2985 (600x800)

Las Vegas is called sin city because you can enjoy all your vices. My number one vice is fro-yo and now they have that too.

IMG_2989 (800x600)IMG_2990 (800x600)

IMG_2991 (800x600)

Want to bet I can eat more frozen yogurt than Adam Richman? It’s a bet you won’t lose!IMG_2992 (800x600)

All this fried chicken and fro-yo is really not helping me lose weight…

I’ve always wondered why are there so few women professional eaters….I think you and I could probably do a Fro-yo showdown with Adam Richman!

By the way – I like your hair…nice little curl/flip at the ends! 🙂

I would have chosen that bear claw too. That looks freakin’ delicious. And not just because I am absolutely obsessed with cinnamon and sugar.

    2 questions:
1 – you were going to work out the same day as a race?? (or are you not racing tonight? i’m so confused!)
2 – when did Hash House open a location in Vegas? i *heart* Hash House in San Diego! YUM!

Have fun in Sin City! 🙂

I love this post, haha. Great eats!! We were in Vegas last year around this time but I’m sad I didn’t eat at the places that you did. Time for a do-over in the near future. 😉

I think you got to Ghiradelli’s right after I left. Wish I could have met you. This whole racing in the evening is crazy!

Sometimes I can’t believe the things you eat! You must have a good stomach – some of those combos make me feel sick just looking at them (: After a case of food poisoning, I’ve been extra careful when eating – especially out-of-town!

I wish we had that frozen yogurt around here, it looks fantastic!

So was Ben trying to “help” on the breakfast front? It looks like he wasn’t sure what would make you feel better.
