Boston Strong Remembrance Run in Long Beach

Uncategorized

23 Apr

A run for us to unite and show our strength.
A run for those that were unable to finish.
A run for those that may never run again.
A run for us to try and make sense of the tragedy that has forever changed something we love.

Boston Strong Runs to remember

Thank you to  everyone who came out to the Boston Strong Run in Long Beach last night.

Most of the #BostonStrong runs happened this weekend or yesterday, but there are still some fundraisers and events if you missed it.

SkinnyRunner has a list of Boston Marathon fundraisers and events.

Reader Jane made these Keep Running Boston shirts.

Please add any other events you know of in the comments!

Question: Did you participate in your local Boston Strong Run or something similar?

I wasn’t able to participate in the Minneapolis one on Monday, but it was great to see all the news coverage they got out here to raise awareness! They had a great turnout!

Yup, sure did. Malaysia Women Marathon (www.mwm.my) organised a run last Saturday and the turnout was great.

We didn’t have any local Boston runs. I was really disappointed. I would have done one 🙁

But it’s really nice to see all the runners who did have the opportunity to participate in one ! 🙂

We had one in our town. We actually only expected about 400 or so, it turned out 4000 showed up!!! It was the most incredible sight ever!

Awesome, thanks for sharing. There are a ton of runs to do whether they’re virtual or local meet-ups. But there are also a ton of places to donate money to victims. I think some of the best ones are fundraisers to make home upgrades for the people who had to get limbs amputated.

I ran with the Boston Strong San Jose last night. We covered 4 miles out and back and it was a great way to spend the evening. 🙂

Our small running community in Mississippi ran on Saturday as a tribute to Boston. Even small efforts mean a lot I am convinced!

I ran 5.2 miles to finish the marathon for everyone stopped at mile 21. We had about 1000 runners and raised over $13,000! It was a great event and I’m so glad I was a part if it.

I participated in a DC Boston Run on Sunday. The official one was at 11am on Monday… I have no clue how people who don’t work directly near the location AND have a gym / shower to clean up in after were able to do it. I rocked my Boston Bib Saturday at a Tough Mudder too so I think I showed the loved!

I didn’t get to do an actual organized run in my area, but I got to upload my activities and workouts on plus3network.com (every workout earns you “kudos” and it converts to real money that some companies have agreed to donate to the charity I chose). Last week, the donations went to One Fund Boston.

Since I was unable to make the tribute run my group participated in, I used the RunJunkees Boston “bib” and did a tribute run in my neighborhood last Tuesday.

I love seeing the continued support Boston is getting from the running community… it is seriously awe-inspiring to see so many people come together this way.

I wanted to participate in a local run going on, but my family was not convinced(hubs doesn’t like running) and Monday is family night so we had to find something else. This weekend I’m running a half in honor of Boston so that’s exciting!
