Dare Me?

Marathon· Running

Hello! How’s it going? I started my day with a tempo run. Whew! I am beginning to like the feeling of really pushing myself. It’s a good kinda pain and I feel so proud of myself after. #RunNerd

marathon training week 4 tempo run blog

My tempo miles were 8:20, 8:17, 8:19, 8:09 and 8:10. I think it shows I’m not a short distance runner since it takes me so long to get warmed up to a good tempo pace!

Now this is the part of the story where I wish I had friends so I could be all like, “Dare me to take a bite of that apple?”

I randomly spotted this seemingly untouched apple on the grass during my run. Ha! So random.

lets play a game (800x450) challenge accepted

I also saw this sleeping squirrel.  I’m pretty sure he was asleep or maybe I ran by so fast he passed out from shock?!

Let’s talk about food and that fun stuff…

There is a Thai restaurant by my condo that does “Pad Thai Tuesday” and it’s only $5.00! You know I was all over that! I really want to go to Thailand and eat my way through the country. I heard the beaches are pretty cool too, but really I would go for the food 100%. Anyone want to join me?

Dessert was a PB Snickers because I swear the fitness instructor at the gym yesterday said she ate one this weekend and that’s why we had to do 100 squats. Well, the idea got in my head and I had to have one.

Since I ate Pad Thai last night I figured the salmon I made the other night was getting kinda old so I gave it to Vegas today. I am just putting this on record that sometimes I’m nice to my cat even though most of the time I Instagram pics of myself holding him upside down or dancing around with him like a very unstable cat lady.

sometimes im nice to vegas (450x800)

Question: Would you have dared me to take a bite of the apple?

My sister said she saw a “sleeping squirrel” on her walk tonight too! Squirrels must be very sleepy this time of year. ALSO I am free to travel/eat our way across Thailand whenever you are. Pad thai is my jam and I am tre jelly you have it for $5. WTF mate. PPS it was COLD in So Cal today and I needed a scarf which is not ok. Another reason to be eating noodles on a Thai beach. xo

Don’t eat the apple but DO go to Thailand. I just got back from eating my way through Thailand (and going to the beaches) and it was amazing beyond words!

Our Monday Body Pump class was also punished with tons of extra squats because she raided her kids Halloween candy!

Come over and do a run-cation in Thailand. How about the Chiangmai Marathon next month? Or Phuket in mid 2016?

To catch up because I missed Nov 1 (4.7mi), Nov 2 (4.8)…Today I ran for 1 hour around UCLA (6.2mi). Vegas is one lucky cat to get that salmon.

Rest day… But midweek pizza = definite run tomorrow.

I’m not sure about the apple, it seems like it could be easy for you to pass on. Could you’ve passed a watermelon, though?

Oh my days that squirrel! That had me laughing far more than it should have!

Running -wise I can’t wait to get back out there and do tempo/pace runs- I’m still in ‘active recovery’ which mean slow miles all the way for me!

I live most of my life by the “try it and see what happens” philosphy…but at the same time, there’s the whole evil witch trying to get Snow White to eat the apple, and I don’t want to be all sketchy like that…
Also, $5 pad thai = reasons I need to get out of Maine, and it takes me forever to warm up for speedwork too! Might be a mental thing- totally dread speedwork even though it feels awesome once it’s over!

I think you would have definitely taken a bite so yeah I would have dared you.

One day I was walking my dog and there was a random meatball. He was all over that. Luckily he didn’t get sick.
