With all this talk about the “Good Mood Blogger” gig I’m trying out for (vote here) I want to make sure and maintain my good mood. Running is definitely my normal drug of choice – I am addicted to the endorphins. But, there are also many foods you can eat to help increase serotonin in your brain (it helps regulate feel good chemicals).

Two good sources of serotonin are Turkey and Flax Seeds ! These are foods I’m sure you’re all familiar with. This site lists 10 foods that help increase serotonin levels. While eating certain foods may not be able to combat depression on their own, it sure does help give yourself an edge over the blues 🙂 Anything you can do to help your body and your mood is okay by me!

I had yogurt and granola for an afternoon snack. I love that I have given myself the green light to enjoy granola whenever I want. Yeah!IMG_1889

When I got home from my 3.4 mile walk I was hungry and had a handful of grapes and a bowl of cereal, it def ruined my dinner appetite (no pic). But, I have a trick up my sleeve for tomorrow – I bought a package of white strips to put on when I get home. It’s perfect because I have to leave them in for 30 minutes anyways!

Dinner was boring – soup and cheese bread.

Breathe: How I Meal Plan – the low tech way! You guys know I’m not fancy, a white board is all I need.

Now I’ve got to hit the sack – I am determined to get at least 7.5 hours every night (don’t want to stress about the whole 8)!

I never knew flax seeds had serotonin. Maybe that’s why Pumpkin Flax Granola doesn’t last so long around me
