Eyelash Extensions and My Random Talent!

Hello! I got eyelash extensions today! Have you tried them? Thought about getting ‘em before?

Before we talk about girly stuff, let’s talk about running and eating. And repeating.

This morning I did 7 miles. I’m still not used to the warm-ups yet. CJ has me doing all these random marching and skipping moves. I do them along the running path or just off the path at a park. It’s not a big deal, except there are people walking their dogs or living their lives and then there’s this redhead fool skipping around. I’m pretty sure it’s weird. Oh well.

Then, I did a little 21 day fix upper body workout.

I had a major score at the 99 cent store today – this Nature Valley cereal. I’ve tried it before and know it’s good! This stuff is usually $4 a box. Boom.

And yesterday I shared a fun Q&A post because I wanted to chat with you.

One of the questions was, “What weird talent do you have?”

I couldn’t think of anything yesterday, but I just remembered my random talent after dinner tonight!

I can eat the chocolate off of any candy without eating the inside of it. I have taken the chocolate coating off Snickers bars, Kit-Kats, See’s Candy, Chocolate covered caramels… it’s my lil happy talent. I did it tonight with this Godiva chocolate bar.

Now let’s talk about eyelash extensions and ignore our real problems and all the news for a bit.

I don’t have a lot going for me, but I do  have long, thick eyelashes. Yeah! Unfortunately, they are very light so without mascara I look like an albino alligator or something.

I’ve struggled with getting eyelash extensions because with mascara my lashes are dramatic, so it’s kind of an unnecessary expense. But, I can’t just go without mascara because I look ‘washed out’. And once I put on mascara I put on other makeup and it turns into a whole thing.

This morning I got a full set of eyelash extensions. The first application takes about 90 minutes. It’s pretty easy – you just lay there with your eyes closed why the lash master glues thick, curled individual lashes to your own lashes. You just have to keep them dry for about 24 hours, don’t put oil based make-up remover on them and try not to get them caught on objects around the house because they’re so long.

I’m happy with the results. The only downside is it’s hard to wear eyeliner with eyelash extensions. You’re not supposed to wear waterproof eye makeup with it because it’s hard to remove it (and might remove the lashes). When I’m actually wearing makeup I like to wear eyeliner so I’m not sure if I’ll skip it or try to use a non-waterproof kind and take it off with a q-tip or something. tbd.

    Why don’t you tint your lashes instead? You can even buy kits to do it at home–it’s easy, and cheap!

    As I’m banned from running and walking again, I’m at a loss as to what to do to exercise. Last night I did some floor exercises: planks, crunches, leg lifts, bridges, etc. Tonight I may try some kettlebell.

    Ugh – it gets dark here at 5pm now Terrible! I was planning to walk today, but a doctors appointment this afternoon ran over, and I didn’t want to go in the dark. So I did a rest day, and I’ll walk tomorrow instead.

    3 tempo miles this AM. Felt great! And then went downhill in a matter of hours. The only thing I’m running now is a fever :-/ Boooo. Resting up so I can run my half on Sunday. Fingers crossed!

    A walk at lunch and lots of dancing/skipping around the volleyball court wasn’t quite enough to get me to 10,000 steps… so I went for a little walk when I got home. Goal achieved!

    I have the same problem with my eyelashes! Most days, mascara is the only makeup I wear so that I look alive. 🙂

    POTM Check-in: Rest day today after speed work yesterday, but I have 7 on the schedule tomorrow-25 total for the month which is perfectly on track to meet the goal of 75 miles this month!     Had to do laps around the elementary school (.4 per lap) because today didn’t go as planned. The after school kids on the playground started chanting eat time I ran by “let’s go! Let’s go! Let’s go!” Pressured by 6 year olds!

    I did 4 miles last night but today I rest because Canyon City is in two!

    I had eyelash extensions for my wedding and just recently had them put back on. They are kind of expensive to keep up! But I think it works best with my lifestyle and it’s nice to feel like a girl. I use the Amazing Lash waterproof liquid eyeliner my studio sells and also their remover pads which are supposedly “safe” for extensions.

    Those extensions looks awesome. I have the same problem with having light eyelashes. Mine are totally blonde on the tips and just kind brown at the base so they always look stubby if I don’t wear mascara.

    I did a arm workout with my personal trainer this morning and a speed workout with friends tonight. Fun fact: I forgot to bring my makeup bag to the gym this morning so I’m not wearing any today.

    Love the lashes. I have a similar situation with my natural lashes being so light blond. I’ve considered trying extensions but I’m afraid of having to keep up with them and then I’m all do I *really* need this??? I’m thinking yes!

    My husband has been feeling pooorly, and the baby’s been waking up super early while I’m off working out. So he asked if I would stay home this morning so he could sleep. I happily obliged and got up at 5:45 instead of 4:15! *livin large*

    After I dropped the big kids off at school the little one and I went for a stroller run of about 2.5 miles. I think you should get 50% more credit on stroller runs, especially if there are hills on the route (which there were).

    If I don’t win the headlamp it’s going on my Christmas list. I need it.

    That joke of the albino alligator made me laugh so hard.

    Your eyeliner solution might be putting eye shadow instead. Just run a really thin brush trough water and then pass it through dark eye shadow. Put it on your lids as you would normally do with eye liner and there you have it. That will be way easier and smoother to remove than even regular non-waterproof eyeliner.

    Great extensions. I got them this September and I love them. I can still wear eye liner, just not waterproof and I wash my face with baby shampoo to remove it, using a tissue or wipe. I can never go back.

    Yesterday I did the elliptical for a 5 k and them went rock climbing 🙂

    I have a day off for the first time in forever, so I’m going to run 6 miles in a nearby forest preserve this afternoon once it’s had a chance to warm up. I may torture myself with some push-ups later.

    Yesterday I did a little over 3 miles on the treadmill at an OTF workout! It actually kicked my butt!
    Love the eyelash extensions-they look so good and like you don’t even need makeup now!
