Fat Tuesday and Pack A Lunch

Breakfast

FacebookTweetPin
16 Feb

Since I am not working a full time job right now this means I am writing, studying and blogging from home. And it also means I’m sitting just a few steps from the kitchen all day. Not a good predicament when I’m trying to avoid random snacking. So yesterday I went out and got myself a lunch bag to pack my lunch in the morning.

I got the biggest one I could find with out it being a cooler because I like a lot of comida.

Today’s lunch utilized a lot of tupperware and still left room in the bag for snacks…

Those containers held: PB&J, Carrots, Hummus and Blubes.

Exercise: This morning I hit up a Spinning Class since I want to go to the doc before I run again. Spinning is fun (just not as much fun as running) and I’m enjoying it!

Breakfast: Before I left I had a big bowl of cereals with banana and PB. Lent starts tomorrow and I’m considering giving up cereal, so this is kinda of my Fat Tuesday enjoyment!Question: Have you ever been to Mardi Gras? You doing anything to celebrate Fat Tuesday?? You giving up anything for Lent???

I’ve always wanted to go, but have not been yet!

I need to do some thinking to figure out my official Lenten promise…

I’m considering giving up STARBUCKS! That is my weakness for sure! Soy lattes, awake tea lattes, seasonal flavored drinks, it all just sucks me in! I’ve been debating it all day…although the fact that it is paining me so much to think of giving it up probably means it is something worth giving up!

I just stumbled upon your blog & plan on reading more 🙂

I’m giving up all sweets & desserts and limiting my pop intake to 2 cans/week. Some of you guys are crazy….giving up Target? Man, I don’t know if I could ever do that! Although it would certainly help my wallet…

I was going to give up Diet Coke, but I can go through a 12pack a day. I know I have a problem, but they are 0cal, right?! I have decided to give up frozen yogurt. It is something I look forward to each week, but also should not be having due to my “topping” problem (pb cups are not 0cal unfortunately).

First, hi everyone–I’m new to this whole running and blogging world but am now doing both so please stop by, I’d really appreciate some advice, motivation, and support!!!

Second, I’m giving up Target for Lent. Clearly I’m a masochist.

I’m from Mobile (where Mardi Gras in the US started) so we go to the parades every year. MG is my fav. holiday ever!

I love spinning! I plan to join again in the spring – I’m really looking forward to it!

I’ve never given up anything for Lent in the past, though I’m considering it this year. I really don’t overindulge in much of one thing (ha ha … when it happens, it’s usually many things!), but chocolate is a good thing to consider. Of course, however will I live without my black bean brownies?

    I love spin!!

I’ve never been to mardi gras, but it looks like a fun time. I’d totally show some boobs for beads. I’m not giving anything up because I feel like with not being a practicing Catholic (or anything for that matter) it’s hypocritical 🙁

Been to Mardi Gras a few time and would NEVER go back. Love New Orleans, it’s way more awesome when it’s NOT Mardi Gras. I’ve been on Bourbon Street before and not had my feet touching the ground because it was so croweded. 🙁

I’ve been to Mardi Gras twice and I’m not going to lie…I flashed my flat chest boobies for tons of beads. It was a blast! New Orleans is THE PLACE to go for craw fish too…oh my god, I want some right now!

Good call on packing the lunch, I know if I was working from home it might be a bit of a struggle too.

Yes I have been to Mardi Gras in New Orleans, I actually went to college & grad school there. It was SO MUCH FUN!! The week leading up to Mardi Gras has so many awesome parades. We usually would stay uptown but one Mardi Gras day we ventured to the Quarter and had a blast on a friend’s balcony.

I’m back in NH now though…. but at least our town has a local pub crawl for Mardi Gras, so we are doing that tonight!

You are soooo funny and a genius. So you’re packing your lunch even though you’re home? As for the lent thing, I never stick to it. Sadly enough.

P.S. I have that same bag. Target?

Allison, I thought about giving up diet Coke since I seriously drank a 2 liter yesterday, but I think sweets would be even harder for me and I don’t want to give up both! Good luck!

I am giving up artificial sweeteners and white sugar. I drink A LOT of diet coke, so we are going to see how that goes. I have stocked up on tea and seltzer.
