Hello! How’s it going? Vegas says ‘what’s up?’.
My legs were super dragging on my run yesterday so I knew it was time for a rest day. Actually, Thursdays are usually my rest day so this worked out great.
I took a short walk and did some strength while watching HLN and the Duggars. It balances out.
But repeated 3 times
Then, I made ‘everything oatmeal’ = oats –> cook. Add 1/4 cup egg whites –> cook more. Stir in sweetener of your choice. Top with peanut powder, almond butter and cinnamon.
This weekend after the Disneyland Half Marathon I wanted to stop for donuts. But, I had to make a stop at the store for some things first and spotted this healthier option – Gluten Free Zucchini Banana Chocolate Chip Muffins in the freezer section!
Many gluten free treats just taste ‘different’ from gluten filled goodies – the texture takes getting used to. But, these are really good and dare I say it – moist.
They are pricey, but the nutrition stats are impressive for the taste. I’d compare them to gluten free VitaMuffins (g-free VitaTops/Muffins don’t exist right now, but they are pretty $$ too). I bought these at Ralph’s – they are in the freezer section. Tip: Microwave them for 1 minute and enjoy.
For fun – I have a race coming up this weekend. Plus I’m on a mission to add some more to my race calendar for the year. This video is wildly accurate.
Question: What was your workout today?
Steve says
Those banana cakes look pretty tasty, yeah you’re right, the stats are impressive! Will have to give them a go!
Livi @ Eat, Pray, Work It Out says

Marcia @MomWifeFitnessLIFE says
Yoga with a Kick. Yoga+ Kickboxing = different, but FUN!

I love the veggie muffins–Costco (at least the one by me, in central Ohio) carries them for a (slightly) better price than at the grocery store, I think. The banana chocolate chip ones are great, and so are the caramel corn and chocolate zucchini muffins!
runeatrepeat says
Lucky! My Costco doesn’t have them! I should ask though 🙂
Becky @ Ok, so here's the plan says
I had mile repeats today, now I’m hanging out in my compression socks. Speedwork and I are not really friends, but I know that it makes me faster.

That video IS accurate!
Thought I’d link you to a gf banana muffin recipe I found recently. It’s dead simple (all prepared in a blender!) and very tasty. I use Bob’s Red Mill certified GF oats. Yum yum!

Riding my bike to the track to do some speed work + abs. Followed by Mexican food and margaritas on the patio and then riding my bike back home to watch The Packers 🙂
Heather @ Run Eat Play says
I wonder if I could get my kids to eat those muffins?!
I am working out tonight at the gym – either strength training or swimming. I haven’t decided yet!
runeatrepeat says
They taste like ‘normal’ muffins!
Flower says
My workout today consisted moving from the couch to the lazy boy. oops. I’m calling it a rest day. I needed one anyway. 🙂
Linda @ Fit Fed and Happy says
Veggie muffins is an interesting concept!
runeatrepeat says
Yeah, sounds like it’s going to taste healthy – but it tasted like a ‘normal’ muffin!
Britney @ Peaches and Pedicures says
I haven’t done my workout yet today, but after work, I’m going to run 3 miles and then do arms and core work!
Those gf banana chocolate chip muffins look delicious!
Jen @ Pretty Little Grub says
Those actually look pretty good! I need more races for my calendar too. I am coming to your area for the weekend of September 25-27. Any races going on then that you know of?
Jen @ Pretty Little Grub says
I meant 25-28, just in case you know of a good Sunday race! 😉
runeatrepeat says
Nothing in LA/OC – I think there might be something in the Ventura (north of LA) area though!
Jen @ Pretty Little Grub says
Thanks, I’ll look into that.
