I Ran The Boston Marathon and All You Got was This Lousy Blog

I did it! I ran the Boston Marathon!! The whole marathon weekend has been amazing. I just got to the hotel and have a big after party to attend (that, or maybe I’m going to watch a Netflix marathon at a friend’s house with cheap champagne and pizza). But I wanted to share my results since I know my mom reads this lil ol’ blog and wants to make sure I am okay.

Hi Mom, I’m fine. Stop calling me I’m very busy with the aforementioned champagne and pizza. Can you pick me up from LAX? Thanks. Love you.

I’ve taken so many pictures and videos – I’ll have a legit recap and results and expo and food and fun post soon. But for now – just know I finished in about 3:58:10. It was amazing. It was also a long day starting at 5am with a gorgeous sunrise.

Your local Monican ran the Boston Marathon in 3:58:10 !

Thank you so so much for all the support and love on Facebook and Instagram and Twitter and in sky writing and via carrier pigeon and singing telegram (even though the singing gorilla messenger was maybe a little bit much). I really appreciate you. More details and pictures of the race and expo coming soon!

Question: What did you do this weekend? Anything fun? Anything delicious??

Congratulations! I watched the race online and was super inspired. I’m starting to run again after recovering from a fractured foot last year. The energy of the race is amazing. I can’t imagine what it felt like in person!

Congrats on the race!! I ran my first Boston last year and it’s such a fun experience- glad you took the time to soak in the experience 🙂 I was supposed to run it this year but…at 5 months pregnant I will have to come back another year! I did come into the city from Maine to spend time with my brother and his fiance, so I caught some of the activity. Congrats again and hope you are recovering!

Congrats again! I wanna know who still uses carrier pigeon when there are technological advances in communication like the rotary phone! 😉

Looking forward to hearing all the details about Bah-ston.

I rode my bike while my little injured toe continues to heal. And I had some great conversations with my boyfriend during our 3 1/2 trip home in Easter traffic on Sunday.

I flew in to serve as cheer squad with my sister for our Boston running friends!!!! Best weekend/runcation. I have a goal to BQ in the next 5 years. So motivated I bought 3 new pairs of shoes before my flight boarded (actually more out of necessity than a want. I destroyed one pair from all the walking I did, and the others need replacements 🙂 )

And spent way too much money on eating good food. Eh, I’ll always be poor might as well be well-fed!!!!

    Congrats on Boston!

Monica! I saw you around mile 23 and yelled like a psycho! I think you had your headphones in. I was SO excited! I’ve been a reader for years, so it was super fun to know you exist outside of the internet. (I mean I suspected that was the case, but it’s still good to have confirmation.) You were doing great and congrats! It’s a great city huh? Such energy.
