Ice Cream is Carbs, Right?

10 Oct

Even though I was full from dinner the ice cream in the freezer has been calling my name. So, I had some topped with a granola bar and some chocolate syrup. A little over the top, but that’s how I do it. Hey, I have a 15 miler planned for tomorrow – Ice Cream is Carbs, Right???IMG_1594

Dinner was just leftovers from yesterday – pasta, beans, feta cheese and broccoli. And I stole some of Ben’s bread, because I love bread and all.IMG_1582

Tomorrow morning I have a 15 miler planned. Running that far alone is rough 🙁 Even if I do have the energy to keep running,  I get bored of my head movies. That’s when the “You should just stop” thoughts creep in. I may start running with the local running group. And I may have Ben bike ride beside me as the miles get higher – it’s great to have someone to hold your fuel!

haha – funny how that works hey? I can be completely full and satisfied from a meal with no cravings for ice cream at all….but just knowing that it’s there in my freezer haunts my brain until I go out for just ‘one bite’. That one bite takes a hold over me and quickly becomes several out of the tub…followed by a nice big cereal bowl-ful…(or two – oops) 🙂

Good luck today, I hope the run goes smoothly!

I thought up a new mantra for myself when they “you should just stop” thoughts creep in. I think to myself “can’t stop, won’t stop”. It sounds silly, but you are more than welcome to borrow it. Just don’t forget to give it back.

I have been reading your blog for inspiration recently. I ran my first 5k today. 30 minutes 35 seconds 🙂 Part of the way I thought about you and some of the other runners whose blogs I have been reading lately and it really pushed me to keep going, so thank you! Unfortunately I was in the 15-19 age group (I’m 19) which meant all of the cross country kids from town were in my age group. Still made 8th though for women’s 15-19! Would have made 3rd if I was 20!

I just wanted to thank you for all of the inspiration you have been giving me!

Look into the local running club! The one here saved me! In fact- I’m getting ready to go now for our 10 miler (we are training for Miami ING).

      Good luck today! 🙂

Good luck on the 15 miler! A running group is a great idea. I’m sorry you don’t feel at home where you are. I moved to Ohio three years ago and I just recently began to feel at home here.

ice cream is 100 percent carb 🙂 Espesh with that granola bar on top! 15 miles is rough, but just get past the 6 mile mark and 10 mile mark and just push yourself. I will be running with you tomorrow in spirit!

      xoxo as always,
      Lo

Long runs alone are not fun at all… during my marathon training I’ve done a few alone, including my first ever 14 miler. Luckily it was a good run, but I couldn’t imagine doing anything longer alone… or even doing that alone again. I’d suggest joining a running group if you find one. 🙂

      Good luck tomorrow!
