Last Monday Mini Goals of September

Breakfast

27 Sep

Hello 🙂 Today is the last Monday of September! This means it’s the last chance to make some weekly goals for Sept. 2010! What are yours?

My Monday Mini-Goals:

1. Do 8 minute Abs  & spend 10 minutes stretching everyday

2. Brush teeth right after dinner

3. Get Organized with writing, home stuff and school

This morning I did a slow and steady 6 miles. Once again my legs were still sore from my rough 20 miler this weekend. I am very happy to be in taper now. I’ll be running less for the next 19 days until the RACE!!!

Breakfast: Lately I cannot decide on what to have for the most important meal of the day. I literally waste 10 minutes standing in the kitchen holding a bag of bread to make AB toast, then putting it down and grabbing a yogurt to make a cereal bowl, then I grab… It is ridiculous.

Today I had to make a fast decision on breakfast because Ben needed to carpool and be at work 30 minutes earlier than I’m used to. I quickly made an egg sandwich with laughing cow and ketchup. Apple for the road.

Luckily, my mouth and tummy were both very happy with this choice!

Last night I had to make another snap decision. My mom forwarded me her Groupon email (from LA county, which I don’t get). The Malibu Half Marathon was super discounted. But – the offer was only good until midnight. I got the email at 10pm. When I clicked on the link for more information the clock on the side was ticking down. Ahhh! What to do, what to do?!

My mind raced with pros and cons…

Pros: It’s cheaper than any other race I’ve signed up for, it’s local (kinda), I’m ready for it.

Cons: It still costs money I didn’t plan to spend even if it’s cheaper, It’s 80 miles away (and a very early drive), I want to make sure I recover well after the mary and not push it too much.

Well – maybe I should have written the list out last night instead of just thinking about it because I decided to go for it 🙂

So I’ll be doing a half marathon a little less than a month after the full. I’ll probably take it easy and enjoy the experience, but we’ll see 🙂

I’m pretty obsessed with chickpeas myself! Good luck on both the full and the half-marathons! My goal is to sign up for a race (any race) soon!

Don’t you just love Groupon?! They had one for the marathon/half marathon in Newport, RI. I totally jumped at it thinking it was saving me 50%…I’m such a sucker for a good deal!
