Hello! I’m just over here chilling with Vegas and some vodka. You know.

my cat yelling at me to stop drinking (600x800)

Today was a rest day so I took a walk to get some iced coffee as a lil treat.

ice ice coffee (600x800)

Then, I made the most amazing breakfast. I have been craving this after seeing some major egg porn on Instagram.

runny egg run blog (800x600)

I was sooooo productive today. I’m proud of myself Smile

cleaned my room for once in my life (600x800)

I cleaned the house. Went through a bunch of mail and randomness and made some delicious food! Check out my snack.

snack fancy (600x800)

I woke up like this:

crazy hair (600x800)

Kinda.

I’ve been getting a lot of questions about my favorite hair care stuff. Thank you! Every now and then I put a brush through it and so I’m glad you like Winking smile

Here’s what I’m using on my red hairs right now…

best hair care products

Monican’s Favorite Hair Supplies

Wide Tooth Comb <- 98% of the time I use a wide tooth comb to untangle and try not to brush it too much outside of that to avoid breakage. I don’t over-brush so when I do brush it feels so good on my scalp.

Aveeno Dry Shampoo <- I use this on my bangs and part after a sweaty run. Note: Make sure your hair is dry from sweat or water first. Spray on dry, greasy hair to make it look less greasetastic.

Big Sexy Hair Spray <- Smells good too! I only use this after curling.

Top Styler <- I try to keep my hair healthy by not over-styling it with heat tools. But, when I do curl it I try to use hot rollers because it’s less intense than holding a HOT curling hot on one piece of hair. Plus it’s a lot faster and I have A LOT of hair!

Nexxus Shampoo <- I get this from Costco when it’s on sale. Boom!

Rusk Conditioner <- I liked the smell of my old conditioner so much, but I didn’t love the way it made my hair feel. This smells good and makes it nice and soft, and I also have a hair restoration service called Root Hair which is great for this. In addition, if you have dreadlock hair, consider buying products here.

Question: What’s your favorite tool right now?

It’s okay if it’s your fingers… better than a fork?

My hairs a bit dry – any recommendations for hair masks?

I love It’s a 10 leave-in conditioner. 🙂 There’s a good in-shower treatment, too, that makes my hair feel amazing afterward, but using both is pricey so I tend to stick with the spray bottle of leave-in.

Usually I use a curling iron because I’m too lazy to roll my hair into rollers. My poor poor broken ends. 🙁

I pretty much just use a brush. Sometimes a flat iron to get rid of bedhead (I shower at night most of the time).

I’m really sad that I don’t have any avocado in my house right now.

Haha I don’t even own a brush. I do use my fingers to detangle while in the shower. Other than that my hair never gets brushed. I should point out that I have curly hair so if I brush it out while dry it becomes a fro.

my hair is so fine and thin (esp on the top) so I wash, towel dry and use a pick (now you know how old I am) that has that no tangle waves on it, I think I have had this “pick” for about 20 ish years

Do hair elastics count? My hair is pretty much always up in a ponytail, or bun. I do wash my hair though, and my favourite shampoo and condition is Redken!

I use a T3 curling iron to put natural looking waves/curls in my hair. My hair is so thin that it barely takes any time at all. Thanks for sharing!

Making that avo egg toast tomorrow, looks delish! And I LOVE the Marc Anthony Beach Waves spray. A few spritzs in air dried hair and no tools (or damage) needed.

No lie, my 3 year old daughter likes to use her fork to comb her hair. Usually during dinner. Apparently, she thinks she is Ariel, and we are not doing a good enough job discussing germs and other gross things in our house.

interesting…I’d like to see the top-whatever in action. New column idea: favorite day and nite moisturizer with a clue as to user’s age (just a clue). I need new stuff and I have no idea where even to start.

I’m loving Batiste dry shampoo. I really like the original scent, but they’d run out last time I needed some more so I got coconut/tropical which isn’t so nice.

I need to do something about my split ends though… it will probably be a trip to the hair dresser!

I’ve never tried dry shampoo before, though I want to try it. I shampoo my hair every single day which is probably bad for my hair.

I LOVE biolage shine spray. It makes your hair so shiny and I secretly LOVE the smell of it. I’m kind of addicted. I’m also kind of addicted to this pic of Vegas. He’s so tirrrrrred. I’m allergic to kitties so luckily our relationship is strictly viral! 😉

Pretty hair as per usual Monica!

Well I have fine and curly hair that breaks easily. So I am always dealing with knots. I use deep conditioner on a daily basis and wash my hair only once every few days. I then have to layer product and twist my curls around my finger individually to get it to look decent. Struggles. But I love my curls. it’s just part of my identity
