Hello! I had a fun day today – it was kind of unexpected, but those are the best kind, right?
This morning I went for a run in my good ol’ Fueled by Watermelon shirt. I ‘save’ this shirt because I originally wore it for the Marine Corps Marathon but never wear it – I figure I should live it up since I love h2o melon year ‘round!
My mom had the day off for Veteran’s day and came over to go shopping. First, we got Pho for lunch. Fo sho.
Then, we hit up the stores for major shoe shopping. My mom needed new running shoes and she tried on a bunch. She decided on a pair of Mizunos – my favorite! I’m happy since I’m a Mizunos girl all the way and I’m excited to hear how she liked them (*Spoiler – I’m giving away Mizuno Running Shoes for POTM next week!!)
I needed shoes too… well, I use the word ‘needed’ loosely. But, even the girl checking me out said these were cute so I think it was a good choice.
This guys slept through all of it…
Overall it was a fun day with my lil mamacita.

I’m right on track with my goals for the month. Definitely loving this challenge! 🙂 Today is a rest day for me, a.k.a., I’m going to Happy Hour after work with some co-workers so the only work out I’m getting in today is from the laughter that is sure to take place. Happy Hump Day!

I ran the wine & dine half marathon in Orlando over the weekend- chilly night run in the pouring rain. Being from So-Cal, I was definitely not used to running in the rain! Next time: visor to keep the water off my face, and some heat packs to keep warm.

I ended up only doing 5 miles yesterday because my watch died and I just can’t run without a watch! Today I am doing a circuit training class, I had an odd ankle pain after my run last night so I think a day off running is needed. This week I realized my POTM goal was completely unrealistic, I set a goal of 100 miles but I have never ran over 60 miles in a month before. So I an scaling back my goal to just get more than 60! I was so excited for POTM I got a little TOO ambitious!

ran intervals on a curve treadmill last night for about 26min. have you heard of these treadmills? They’re a curved, flexible rubber platform that doesn’t require any plugins. You basically control your pace by how you’re positioned so it was pretty hard since there’s a lot of core control and concentration needed. Not to mention, it feels like you’re running up a hill the entire time!
Looking forward to running close to 5-6 mi this afternoon followed by some core work.
