Hello! How’s it going? I’m still hanging out in Florida. Eating and a lil running.

Yesterday we had a little bit of a Thanksgiving fail when the turkey wasn’t cooked all the way for dinner. It was a HUGE turkey and probably a little frozen inside and so when we went to cut it we checked the temperature and realized it wasn’t close to being done! Ha!

But all was not lost since we had tons of delicious side dishes AND 4 different kinds of pies. I seriously had 6 pieces of pie yesterday.


This morning I woke up and hit the sidewalk (with my feet) to pile on some miles as penance for the most pie ever (plus ice cream).
It was a little chilly (for me) but gorgeous out!!


On the way back I spotted a beautiful egret. I stopped to take a picture and thought he’d fly away, but he didn’t. Then, he grabbed a lizard for breakfast!! Ha! He was hunting and so I got a few great pictures.

The extent of my exercise was climbing up & down the ladder decorating my 2 Christmas trees! It took over 5 hours.

Ran 7.6 miles, and completed my goal of 50 miles for the month! I’m feeling pretty accomplished, and I’m already looking forward to deciding on a goal for December… Thanks for all of the motivation – you rock!!

So glad you’re enjoying Florida! My family and I are spending 2 weeks there over Christmas for the first time this year and seeing those palm trees in your pictures is making me excited! Despite the little turkey issue, which really isn’t an issue with all of that delicious food, I’m glad you had a great thanksgiving!! So much to be thankful for in life!

Hello! I’m checking in late for yesterday but I love egrets. No miles yesterday. We traveled from Maine to New York. When we arrived our friend had just trapped a feral Tom cat and she needed to bring him to the vet …oh gosh, you won’t read this unless I win so, happy Friday to you!
55 minutes of a Body Conditioning Class followed by a 70 minute Spin Class (it was supposed to be 45 minutes- but the teacher decided to make us work off all that food!)
Working in retail + Black Friday= WORK. I am more sore from 2 days of work than I am after a half marathon!! I put in a 10 hour day on only 2 hours of sleep because I worked on Thanksgiving too!!
I won’t be able to run again until Sunday……
Just some ab work and weights today. I’d actually rather be out running a marathon than doing that!

Today I ran 3.1 miles at a pretty good clip as I’m trying to improve my 5K time! I’m also training for a half-marathon so I’m praying I’ll be able to squeeze in an 8-10 mile long run at some point during this busy weekend.

I did not want to workout at all today, but I had plans to meet the bff at the gym. Wound up having a great four mile run, spent some time on the stair stepper, and played around on a few different weight machines.

I just got back from a two week vacation in Africa and hit the pavement this evening. Only ran for about 35 minutes, but it’s better than nothing!

Went to the gym bright and early for some back and biceps then a short run. Saved my legs for miles of shopping.
I rested my lazy butt. Hit a few sales, nothing spectacular though.
I put in 3 miles at my in-laws’ house in Iowa after eating WAY too much stuffing yesterday. It was a pretty warm run – 25 degrees!

I originally posted this to the wrong post, so I will try again.
I ran my first 5k this morning! I am proud of my 35 minute time, as it was a hilly, challenging course (four steep hills), and my first race. I just started running a few months ago. Your blog has been so inspiring for me, and I know I would not have been motivated to try a 5k without the pile on the miles challenge! Happy Holidays and be careful shopping out there!

I think I am the only one in our small town that did not go shopping on Black Friday! I had the gym all to myself this morning as I ran 6 miles on the treadmill and did an upper body circuit.
So I’ve been slack about not checking in, but I’ve been getting my miles in. 10k turkey trot yesterday and 3 treadmill this morning puts me over my 100 mile goal for November! Yessssss 🙂
Was able to get in 5 miles this morning. Which is good because I also had more than one piece of pie yesterday. And I surpassed my goal for the week!

Strength training Friday!
Another rest day today. Everything seems to be aggravating my hamstring. Taking it slow and letting it heal is KILLING me as I can feel my waistline expanding! Hopefully I will manage at least one last workout before the end of the month. But I did make my goal!!
