FAQs about Pile on the Miles Run Challenge:
When/Where do we run? – A: This is a completely VIRTUAL Run Challenge so you run when and where you choose.
Is it Free? – A: Yes.
Do Run/Walk interval miles count? – A: Yes.
I don’t run that much, but do take walks. Can I use the tracker for walking miles? – A: Yes.
I run a few times a week and also take walks… can I count both of those mile totals? – A: Yes. This is up to you. If your goal is to just run more… just set a goal for running miles and track those. If you just want to hit a certain amount of miles overall, you can count walking and running miles.
What if I don’t finish all 50 miles? – A: It’s okay, the point is to challenge yourself to run or walk MORE than you have been doing lately.
What if I choose the 50 mile tracker and finish it before the month is up? – A: YAYYY!!! That’s awesome!! You can either start another 50 mile chart or get the 100 mile tracker and go from there.
Should I use a running app or GPS watch to track my miles? – A: This is completely optional. This challenge is on the honor system – so you can use whatever method you feel comfortable with to figure out how many miles you’ve done.
What if I don’t know if I should get the 50 Mile Tracker or 100 Mile Tracker? – A: You can get both! But, it’s best if you set a goal based on how many miles you did last month (assuming you’re not sick or injured and at a similar fitness level). Once you have a realistic goal – that will tell you what mileage tracker is probably best for you right now.
I’m injured right now. Will you do another running challenge in January? – A: I’m sorry – running injuries really suck. And yes, there will be another running challenge in January.
Is there a medal for completing this running challenge? – A: Since this is a free challenge there’s not a medal for finishing. But if that’s something a lot of people are interested in – we can definitely get medals for the next challenge. Please let me know if this will help motivate you.
