Pile on the Miles Week 2 – Monday Check In

Fun· My Life

Hello! How was your weekend? Do anything fun? Eat anything delicious?? Run the Revel Marathon or Half Marathon?

I did all of those things and it was great!! But I am sore today. Whew! It is a little challenging to go from sitting to standing, but it’s a good kinda burn. It’s really weird that after a marathon I’m not sure hungry, I’m mostly thirsty and confused…

confused about what I want to eat, confused about what I just did to my body and why I did it, confused about the meaning of life… but the day after a marathon I am hungry the entire day.

Post-race I bought some random munchies and shared a flatbread pizza with Ben. I mostly just relaxed and recovered the rest of the day.

what i eat after a marathon (800x450) flatbread fun (800x450)

This morning we took a little walk to get coffee and a treat. We used to do it as a little tradition each week and it was nice to bring it back.

sunday morning walks (450x800) sunday morning traditions (800x450)

I made breakfast when we got back – chilaquiles. I have a ton of corn tortillas so I’m basically going to be putting them in everything for a while.

sunday cheesy eggs breakfast (800x450)

Then, it was off to church where I prayed very hard that I wouldn’t lose all my toenails. Amen. (I usually don’t since my feet are used to it but since this was a downhill race I felt them super sore right after.)

headed to church (600x800)

This weather is perfection. I love it!

red dress for church sunday (450x800)

And since it’s Sunday and I’m a mess, lunch was salad eaten at the counter with my hand, then some leftover brownies. I’m not fancy.

I was awful today and didn’t do anything. 🙁 I left my house at 7:15 am and didn’t get home until 10:45 pm. So, I literally had no time! But, my Fitbit said I walked 13,000 steps, so I guess I got some walking in!

Oops. Forgot to check in yesterday and was away this weekend so didn’t get online at all. Goals for the week are 4 runs (3-3 mile and 1-6 mile) and 2 cross training days. Yesterday was an unplanned rest day since I was catching up on sleep from the weekend.

Travelled over the weekend and had a bit of a fail on my workouts but the good news is I am getting back to it!
Monday was a rest day, I was exhausted from the flying etc.
Goal for the rest of the week is at least 30 minutes of exercise each day, and a total of 24 miles running by Sunday night.

Since my weekly goal is 30 miles, today I will cycle to/from work (15 miles) as usual, but then run 4.5 miles when I get home. It’s always hard going back out into the cold dark night after work, but it’ll only take 40 minutes, and I’ll feel great for it afterwards. Plus, I’m roasting some sweet potatoes for dinner, so I can multi-task.
I absolutely MUST hit my goal of 100 miles for POTM15 – and I only did 18 miles last week. Time to get moving.
