I have a great Class Pass review and giveaway for you courtesy of Propel today! I’m pretty excited about it because I

A.) dig the heck out of the new Propel electrolyte water and

B.) really love Class Pass (after I have been avoiding trying it for the longest time – busted)

The nice people at Propel gave me a month’s membership to Class Pass.

Class Pass is a membership that allows you to take UNLIMITED group fitness classes at some of the best studios near you. They offer everything from Zumba to Barre to Crossfit to Boot Camp. It’s awesome!

Being in Southern California there are seriously TONS of fitness classes. These LA people are interesting with their ‘Fit Buddha’ and Aerial Fitness and OC Pole fitness. (I do really want to try fit Buddha so I come out all zen and stuff.)

Week before last I hit up a yoga class. I was so proud of myself because I feel so good after yoga but never go because it (ironically) stresses me out. Ha! I’m the worst.

And a few days later a tried a new-to-me Zumba studio. I haven’t been to Zumba in sooooo long I was afraid I had ‘lost’ it. Whatever ‘it’ is.

The important thing is Vegas was there to support me.

Look at him, being all supportive and stuff…

I know it’s like the most cliché thing to say but the key to Zumba (or any dance fitness class) is to just have fun. I think when you take it too seriously and freak out it makes it stressful – which is the opposite of what should be happening during your workout! Have fun, dance around, jump, shake and laugh.

The Class Pass and Propel water is part of the support I have to hit my Summer Fitness Goals. So far I’m doing well!

My Summer Fitness Goals:

1. Strengthen my core and glutes by working those areas 3 times a week. – Classes are helping with that. I’m also doing some moves at home that I’ll share when I get the chance.

2. Lose a few pounds by tracking nutrition and cutting out mindless snacking. (I also had the opportunity to talk with an RD and we discussed what I’m eating and where I can improve. More on this later.) I actually have been using a new post-meal treatto help overeating and recently came to a revelation that Intuitive Eating has really ‘clicked’ for me.

    The last fitness class I did was zumba. I completely agree that you just have to let go and have fun. I would love to try a Barre class.

    .Hi Monica! I’m too late for giveaway and that’s okay because we don’t have Class Pass in Pittsburgh (but we need it, ClassPass people!). I have a ? – I read somewhere on your blog that you tried weight watchers and it didn’t work for you. I’m doing it – AGAIN – and it’s not working for me either. first 3 weeks and zero weight loss (.3 gain actually). I tried intuitive eating while I was marathon training and I gained 3 pounds (and now need to lose 10 -15). ugh. so frustrating. Any thoughts much appreciated. And – you crack me up!

    it’s been so long since i’ve done a class! probably yoga at my gym. i’d like to experiment with some others while i’m taking a bit of a running break before i start training for NYC marathon!

    The last fitness class I did was a Zumba class where EVERYONE was a regular except for me! I definitely got kind of creative with the moves while I tried to keep up…!

    I go to a boot camp class at my gym a couple times a week. I like the variety it offers and it does lots of weights, which I hardly ever do on my own!

    Last class was a group crossfit workout that a friend puts on 3 times a week in his garage gym. Would like to try another crossfit class to see how I stack up with all my training behind me or a really good spin class, I’ve gotten *meh* about the one at my gym.

    The last class I went to was spin class at a place called Beat Cycle that makes class like a club atmosphere. I usually bike outside but the rain just WON’T STOP here in Boulder. Thankfully CU is out for the semester so my 30 year old butt isn’t surrounded by a bunch of sorority girls anymore.

    I just took an Urban Rebounding class (mini trampoline) and I LOVED it. The teacher was awesome and it was a great workout! Would love to win the ClassPass so I could try other cool classes out there!

    I’ve been wanting to try class pass so badly! I need to switch up my workout routine and love that I’d be able to try all of the “fancy” classes in the city that I basically can’t afford otherwise. I want to try peloton, orange theory, the mile high run club, pure barre..the list goes on!!!

    woohoo, great giveaway! there’s a studio called “sproing” in chicago, where the work out is on the bouncy trampoline-type things. i’m sure my legs will regret me saying this, but i’ve been wanting to try that for a while now.

    I have a little anxiety when doing group classes, so I always go to the back. Buuuttt I really want to try a barre class. I tried Barry’s Bootcamp and died, came back to life (because they were yelling at me) and then died again. #sohard

    This is awesome. I get so bored at the gym everyday so it’s nice to incorporate different fitness classes that surprise my muscles! I prefer using Peerfit because it allows for more freedom than Classpass. It’s mainly in FL, however (and Houston).

    I mostly work out at and around home (running, biking, and P90X), but I recently took a Skyrobics class at SkyZone (indoor trampoline park). It was a blast, but it was HARD!

    if one doesn’t exist i think they need basic strength for runners. I need to show up somewhere twice a week and have a teacher to go through 30-45 minutes of strength stuff so i know i’ll do it =) But it’s gotta be simple/functional stuff….

    yeah let’s face it i’m not a class person. So don’t pick me for the contest winner lol. =)

    I love class pass!! It has totally motivated me to try new/different workouts instead of my go-to (running). I went to a barre class this morning with a 2 minute plank at the end– OUCH!

    I’d like to take a yoga class with an instructor…I’ve only ever done videos on my own, so it’d be nice to have my form corrected by an instructor.

    I did Ripped in 30 dvd this morning before work. Nothing like starting off the day with a little Jillian Michaels torture.

    BTW, my sis was an instructor at Fit Buddha in Santa Barbara before she moved out of the area. I thought I had a pretty strong core until I took one of her classes. I felt like complete jello by the end. Not sure if LA locations are owned by the same people (who are awesome!), but I would definitely recommend it.

    The last fitness class I did was teaching one here in Chicago. Yesterday’s workout wasn’t exactly a class since it was one on one, but I went to Hardpressed which is a HIIT strength workout all with machines and heavy weights. Soon I will be The Rock.

    I would love to use ClassPass to try SO many different types of classes offered here in LA but on the top of my list is hot yoga. I’m training for my first 10k and I definitely need yoga to balance out my body to be the best version of myself!

    Love the “AB-solution” class at my gym; and really any of the classes that focus on strength and core work. I don’t go for the straight-up cardio classes because that’s what running gives me. I’m with you on the whole “stressed out over classes” thing–especially Zumba. Just can’t. But yoga only bothers me a little bit, usually I just get in there and do it.

    As a current Angeleno, I agree that there are SO MANY FITNESS OPTIONS. And I want to do them all! But being poor stands in the way of that. I would love to do more spinning, some more pole dancing/fitness (its so fun! i just cant afford it), some dance classes, etc etc. So many things I’d love to do. I’m not much of a propel fan, but I’d be willing to give it a try.

    I miss Zumba! The last group fitness class I attended was a spin class at my gym a month or so again. I’ve been utilizing the nice weather here in Wisconsin and doing more outdoor activities rather than being inside since I’m stuck indoors all day for work already. I would really like to attend a crossfit class again since it’s been about two years since my last one. Or a trx class. I just can’t afford a crossfit membership at the moment.

    I would love to try more classes, but I am a giant chicken. Did yoga in a giant park class a few weeks ago. Stressed me out. A pass like this would give me the kick in the ass I need to go and take advantage of the awesomeness my city has to offer!
