Surprise Blood Test

Dinner

26 Aug

It’s been almost a month since I went to the doctor for the foot herp. The physician’s assistant did a treatment, but it never fully went away. And actually it started to come back. Boo.

So, I went back today to see my doctor like that from Daily Care Solutions (who I love!). She said we were going to “burn the sht out of it”. And we did. But, I’ll still need to go back in a week for a follow up.cankles

We had time to talk during the process and I asked her about my crazy body temperature fluctuations (get really cold after eating, sweaty at night). So she is ordered some blood tests.IMG_8152 (800x600)

Since the blood test was unexpected Ben asked why I had a band-aid. I told him I got a blood test because I was pregnant and will soon need items like those pregnancy belts.

He was happy. Joke Backfire. thanks-not-denying-baby-ecard-someecards(someecards.com)

I was in the area and went to my mom’s to raid her massive fridge!

She has my favorite cheese! For some reason I never think to buy it, so this was a real treat!IMG_8136 (800x600)

The dogs looked on in horror as I washed down the cheese with a few handfuls of strawberry frosted mini-wheats and mint chip ice cream.IMG_8138 (600x800)

But, I bought their silence with a walk. IMG_8139 (800x600)I wish I loved anything as much as my dogs love walks.IMG_8141 (800x600)

And each other <3IMG_8144 (800x600)

My mom sent me home with a perfectly ripe avocado. I added it to a massive salad with chickpeas, ranch and seasoning. IMG_8148 (800x600)

English muffin pizzas on the side because I had a serious craving.IMG_8149 (800x600)

And that was my foot herp, pregnancy joke, ice cream sneakin’ day.

See you tomorrow after my l-o-n-g run!

THIS IS YOUR YEAR.

How on earth do your toes look so good considering all the running you do? I only am maxing 5 miles 5 days a week and my toes are so ugly I’m embarrassed to get a pedicure! This may sound weird but I’m jealous of your nice feet 🙂

If you don’t mind sharing your results, I’d love to know why you get cold after you eat because the same thing happens to me! Like freezing cold [gigantic goosebumps], regardless of what I eat!

Great, thanks! Hopefully it’s nothing serious but I know it happens to some of my girlfriends too- our bodies are so weird!

I get night sweats on occasion, but they are a side effect of a medication I am on. I couldn’t help but crack up about the failed joke.

I have those same issues and I had bloodwork done and everything was normal except for my thyroid. I’m curious as to the results of yours!

I used to have seriously awful night sweats, but then I realized it was due to the birth control I was on. Damn hormones! Hope the results come back okay!

When I play that joke on Andy, he is annoyed at me. Now I’m sure he won’t believe me when I am actually pregnant.

Hope the foot gets better asap! Does it hurt when you walk/run on it?

It was sensitive when I started to run, but went away. My doctor told me not to run actually – busted!

I know, I didn’t even think about the fact that Ben won’t believe me when I’m actually pregnant!

      Monica,
I’m really curious what the doctor says about your blog tests. I have the same extreme temperature problems – FREEZING after I eat, sweat like a beast at night. Maybe I need blood tests too?

How long are you running today? And what are you training for right now? I’m going to go run on the treadmill in my new 5 fingers for the first time…a little scared.

I have the same issue with my body temperature changing. FREEZING right after I eat and sweating so disgustingly while I sleep. I am hoping you share your test results with us!!!

Haha, I got my blood taken a few weeks ago and my dad asked why I got it taken… I used the pregnancy joke but he didn’t think it was very funny 🙂

I’d love to be a dog for a day. Except for the random licking of …things. But the rest of it looks ideal. Don’t you just love how excited they are to see you every time?

Did you do your toenails just because you knew the doctor would be examining your foot or are they always that nice? Either way I’m impressed since mine are currently covered with two month old, chipped, purple nail polish.

Haha, your pregnancy joke reminds me of that episode of Friends where Monica trys to freak Chandler out by saying she wants to have a baby and instead of losing it he agrees. Totally made me laugh.

It’s weird, but all my friends started getting their toes done in high school. If they’re jacked up you would get a lot of crap, so it’s just a habit now.
