Hello from San Jose, CA! I’m here for the US Women’s Gymnastics trials. It’s super exciting and fun!! But first let’s talk about running and eating…
This morning I did another 9 miles in an effort to get some more miles on tired legs. Tomorrow is going to be a very happy rest day.
After my run I got ready and headed to the airport. I just realized it was my first time getting an Uber from home. I usually just use them when I’m traveling! Anyway. I flew from Orange County to San Jose and it was easy breezy. I think the flight was 1 hour.
I have a bunch of small cuts / chafe marks from my sports bra on my chest and under my arms. It’s not a big deal but I noticed a few random looks that reminded me I should cover them up or explain to everyone that I run and sometimes your clothes leave marks on long runs… blah blah blah.
Okay let’s get to San Jose!
It is gorgeous here. GORGEOUS. I’m a big fan of California and every time I see a new awesome place I want to move there forever.
In bee sting news- the sting on my butt got WORSE. It seemed fine yesterday (or maybe I didn’t realize?) but I woke up this morning with a huge welt. Then, I got back from my run and checked it again – it was bigger and redder and disgusting-er. Gross.
I sent a picture to my one friend Katie aka the nurse practitioner and she said to just give all my stuff away and walk toward the light. Fantastic.
But I decided to push through for another night because I didn’t want to miss dinner or the US gymnastics trials.
After dinner and M&Ms the group headed to the SAP center for the trials. We’re here with CorePower (they sponsor one of the star athletes).
Question: What’s your favorite summer sport?

SO JEALOUS. I would LOVE to be in San Jose for the trials! Gymnastics is my favorite sport to watch (in general, not just during the Olympics). How do they do such crazy things and still land on their feet???
Meagan @ My Life as Mrs says
I’m so jealous! I watched it all on TV last night! I’ve been obsessing over who’s going to make the team for the Olympics. It’s my favorite but I enjoy swimming, diving, and track stuff. I love the Olympics!

Gymnastics is fun to watch! And just amazes me how they can twist, jump, and do all that stuff. My kids take gymnastics class but it’s only for leisure- but there are those competitive teams practicing too and they’re crazy-good! And they’re still young girls! But with six pack abs and muscles… Amazing.

I watched from the couch while eating ice cream….and then kept saying out loud…those girls are sooo tiny and solid muscle….(yea, they are not eating ice cream on the couch!!) I guess ya get what you put in…
Sally @ sweat out the small stuff says
I watched them from my couch last night. Those vaults are insane. How do they know exactly how many steps to run before planting their hands down and flying through the air like that. Oh and then landing without falling. I’m honestly so inspired. My boyfriends 10 year old is a gymnast and seeing her compete a few months ago was awesome.
