Thin Mint Cookie CEREAL

Fun· What Runners Eat

This is it people. This is what we’ve been waiting for – Girl Scout Thin Mint Cookies in cereal form. Everyone knows Thin Mints are the reason Girl Scouts have stayed in business this whole time. I remember being a girl scout and eating these cookies. I mean, selling not eating…I was supposed to be selling them (but I was really just eating them).

So, even though I didn’t need any cereal I had to buy this new Thin Mint Cereal for 5 reasons:

1. It’s only here for a Limited Time

2. I wanted to taste test it to let ya know if it was good.

3. It’s cookies in cereal form – do I really need another reason?

4. I’m pretty sure they’re called THIN mints because they make you thin.

5. National Cereal Day is coming up (March 7) and I want to be fully prepared with my cereal knowledge and cereal stash.

Yes. I bought them and immediately tried them on the way home.

And then I tried them with milk when I got home. They are good.

Thoughts on GS Cookie Thin Mint Cereal…

Cute little chocolate, minty bites. More dense than cookie crisp, which makes for a better bite. Not too minty or too sweet – just right. Turns your milk –> chocolate.

I think they’re good. I’m used to keeping my Thin Mints in the freezer so I think I’m going to put a baggie of the in the freezer and see how that works.

Nutrition info:

I spotted the Thin Mint Cereal at Walmart. They are also at Target and some big grocery stores.

Speaking of freezing non-freezer items…

I keep cashews in the freezer because I like when they’re extra crisp / crunchy. This might be a bad idea for my teeth. But it’s a good idea for my happiness.

In other news:

Vegas says ‘hi’.

He also says, “Hey lady… give me some chicken. I’m going to meow continuously for 22 minutes until I get chicken…”

And I want to give myself a lil pat on the back because I made a big fancy steak dinner for Valentine’s Day!

I am not fancy. I don’t really crave red meat. I have no idea how to choose a good cut of steak – or cook it.

But I bought steak and potatoes and sourdough and cooked up a manly meal for the Grizz. I looked up how to do the steak since it’s been so long since I’ve cooked one. And that reminded me that I should make steak every time I cook for someone! It’s super easy. Just season. Broil. Flip. Boom.

Oh, I almost forgot this is something a running blog! I ran 9 miles this morning. It was just a so-so run, I didn’t get into a good groove. For some reason my foot turnover didn’t feel quick at all? But it was the most gorgeous day ever. Ever. (That’s not an exaggeration. It might also be the cereal sugar high talking.)

* RER Reader Survey *

Hi! I am working on improving RER so I can be helpful and fun (and not waste your time). Please take a minute to fill out this survey and let me know what you want to see on RER (and what you hate). Thank you. I really appreciate it.

(P.S. I think the link is not working for mobile users right now. I’m trying to fix it. Thank you so much for your patience.)

Question: Do you keep anything random in the fridge or freezer?

Do you know how to cook steak?

Are you getting Girl Scout Cookies this year?

I keep potato chips in the freezer to make them extra crunchy.
More Vegas would be fun — love that cat!
Also really enjoy your race reviews for a little vicarious adventure.

I don’t know how to cook steak but planning to learn the same. Normally I keep Nuts and my favorite chocolates in the Fridge.

I LOVE Thin Mints. They are amazing. I may have to stop at WalMart just to buy some. I don’t really keep anything unusual in the freezer, except nuts. They go stale if you keep them out, but not in the freezer. I got the link to work by opening it in a new window.

I had to put some bananas into the fridge yesterday coz they were turning overtly ripe and I didn’t want them to turn mushy if I have kept them out on the counter.

My link didn’t work and I’m on a desktop. My favorite red meat, besides burgers, is the flap meat cut from Costco. I marinade it in the Kikkoman meat marinade (it’s a packet, not a liquid in the store) and then grill….yum!

Oh boy…did I get Girl Scout Cookies! I ordered far too many boxes of Samoas from my niece and always keep a box of them in the freezer. Something about frozen sweets makes me happy!

Cooking steak…I can do it, but I leave it to the boyfriend because he’s very particular about how it gets cooked. It’s less stressful to let him do it. 🙂

We freeze corn on the cob from our garden. We leave it on n the cob. I have no idea how to cook steak. I don’t eat red meat. A coworker sells at work. I bought S’mores & Peanut Butter Sandwich Cookies. First time I skipped the Thin Mints. Keebler Grasshoppers cookies are incredibly close in taste to Thin Mints. I was unable to take the survey.

We all love Vegas:) I’m not sure how you get him to stay for a picture. When I had cats both would walk away before I could get a shots. My dog does the same thing, I’m sure that I am just too slow. Sort of like my running:)

Oh yes, I can cook a mean steak…..of course being from Nebraska, everyone knows how to cook a perfect steak! Have you ever had an “Omaha Steak”? If not, you should order a few for Ben. Here is the website: http://www.omahasteaks.com/shop/
Definitely getting girl scout cookies this year – our granddaughter sells them and I ordered a bunch from her! They have a new s’mores one this year! Can’t wait to try it.

I also love dark cherries in the freezer – but those come already frozen from Trader Joe’s.

Nothing too weird in my freezer, except that sometimes you can find lab supplies in there if I couldn’t get to the lab before it closed and need to keep something frozen (recently was full of antibiotics).

Whenever I make chocolate chip cookies, they go right in the freezer. For some reason my husband likes them frozen! We currently have 2 boxes of peanut butter patty girl scout cookies in the pantry. I think maybe I’ve grilled a steak for the husband. I don’t like red meat so its not often!

I don’t know how to cook a steak but I do LOOOOVE them (and crave them) so much. So, I guess I should stop spending money on eating out at steakhouses and start cooking my own thing.

Peppermint patties are usually floating around in my freezer.
I remember wanting to impress my boyfriend by cooking a filet mignon. My sister in law told me step by step what to do including what oil to use and getting a meat thermometer. I managed to make it work. But never tackled that again. Lol.
Oh the boyfriends daughters are both Girl Scouts. I’ve already ordered 2 boxes of lemonades!

It’s not that random, but I keep basically every fruit I have in the freezer. Unconventional ones. Like papayas, pitayas, even cherries – when they were bought fresh and I eat them within a day… I dunno why I just like my fruits frozen over fresh LOL!
