This is Why You’re Fat Guacamole Edition

On the way home from work I got a crazy guacamole craving. Crazy. So, I swerved into oncoming traffic to bust a U-turn into a local Mexican restaurant’s parking lot.gimme some guacamole

This is a sit down place so I wasn’t sure if they did take out, but I am shameless and thought I’d try.

Me, “Can I order something for take out?”

Waitress Lady: “Yes.” (Goes to hand me a menu)

Me, “No, I don’t need a menu. This is sad… Can I have an order of guacamole?”

Lady (tries not to judge the desperation in my voice), “Yes. That will be $4.08.”

I quickly paid for my green mush and rushed it home. Totally worth it.IMG_2320 (800x533)

Anyways, I thought I’d share because I was embarrassed about my guacamole desire yet would not be stopped.

I piled it on a plate of roasted veggies, organic turkey burgers and chips. IMG_2326 (800x533)

Regarding the title – there is a website called “This Is Why You’re Fat” now they are a bit under the radar on tumblr, but I’m still a fan.

It’s pretty magical. I mean, who doesn’t want a fried donut cupcake?! donut cupcake

I know what I’m having for breakfast…

Honestly, I bet you’re not the first person to stop in there and ask for just guacamole!
I’m actually not big on guacamole (or avocados)…in some ways, I wish I DID like it, but it just doesn’t do anything for me.

Las Golindrinas in Laguna Niguel is yum! I have craved it since I moved away.

I can’t be stopped when I have a massive craving. Especially one I can easily justify. Guacamole has good healthy fat in it! Unlike doughnuts or cake.

This is why you’re fat – that website freaks me out. I can feel my arteries slamming shut every time I go there. lol

I bring up this website often when my husband talks about disgusting food… It’s an ongoing joke. At least for me.

Hahaha, I luuuurve me some guacamole! I can totally see myself doing the exact same thing. And This is Why You’re Fat is such a great site – it makes me feel so much better about what I’m eating even when it’s not good for me, haha!

I could eat guac with a spoon – no chips needed.

Guacamole is one of those things I crave at all times. Unfortunately though it’s not cheap so I can’t have it all the time and IT’S NOT FAIR. Er, anyways, I am picky so I make my own (chunky w/ lots of cilantro & red onion) and then eat it all. If my husband wants any I make a sad face and give him a chip with just a little bit ;).

I totally relate to the guac craving–gotta satisfy that once in awhile, and hey, you had it with reasonably healthy stuff. That website is something, though. Reminds me of what my husband tried once at a combination Baskin-Robbins/Dunkin’ Donuts franchise: donuts ala mode. Yeah, seriously, a donut with ice cream on top.

I totally don’t blame you for risking life and limb for guacamole, especially from a real Mexican restaurant. It’s fantastic! And it goes great on just about anything, for sure. Now I want guac with my lunch. I don’t care what lunch is, but it should have guac on it.

Have you seen the 100 calorie pack guacamoles in the grocery store? They are the Wholly Guacamole brand, and I have been wanting to buy some, but am convinced I would just suck it right out of the pack like a go-gurt.

I’ve seen those packets, but usually just buy the big container 🙂

Have you ever heard of deep fried butter?? That needs to make it on that tumblr. PS) no shame is picking up a tub of guac on the way to/from anywhere. I can’t count how many times I go to chipotle right AFTER i eat lunch to get their guac and chips for a “snack” 🙂

Oh my gosh, I love going on “This Is Why You’re Fat.” The only problem is that now I really want to try having a sandwich with two donuts instead of the bread…yum.

I could one-up you on the guacamole…there is a Mexican restaurant near my house that makes the most delectable chips out out of lard-laden flour tortillas, and I go there just to get an order to go! They are soooo delicious, but sooo fattening! Guacamole is good fat for you though-don’t worry girl! I like the “Wholly Guacamole” brand from the grocery store, if you ever buy it pre-made there.
