Hello! This morning I woke up and was on a mission for pancakes. Oddly, this week I didn’t have french toast every day so I think I had a syrup deficiency.
I must admit I was inspired by Jack Johnson’s Banana Pancake song as it’s on my playlist and I heard it at mile 11 yesterday. Yeah, running that long will make you crave anything – but especially pancakes!
I used my go-to pancake recipe and cut banana pieces into it after I poured it into the skillet.
Then, I slathered sunflower seed butter like I only have 24 hours to live and need to finish the jar tonight.
But then something tragic happened!!!
I dropped my sunflower seed buttered fork. #Fail.
I had to console myself with a few (new) forkfuls out of the jar. And all was okay again.
Since Ben likes old school pancakes and I wasn’t about to make 2 batches I made him coconut encrusted French Toast.
Then, I headed off to Zumba. I’m addicted and loving it
I had grocery shopping on the agenda for today, but know better than to go while hungry so I made lunch first. These Quorn Naked Chik’n Cutlets were also on clearance a while back.
The Naked ones are totally not as good and the chicken nugget style ones. Not.even.close.
I made a big ol’ chicken salad with both kinds and peanut dressing. This is going to be my lunch for the whole week because I’m also obsessed with this. Yep, Zumba and chicken salads are all I want for Christmas, Valentines, Arbor day…
I randomly found this piece of chocolate with the almond slivers that I put on my salad. It ended up being dessert as I thought a chocolate crouton was ridiculous even for me.
Then, I headed to my third Happiest Place on Earth (after the lands of Disney and Yogurt) = Costco!
Last week Ben came with me to Costco and I tried to get him to get a Berry Sundae, but he wasn’t biting. Plus, I’ve been craving a churro for weeks (since my brother and I had a very lengthy discussion on what makes a ‘good churro’).
I realized I wanted the sundae and a churro and tried to decide on one. Nope.
I wanted both, so I got them. Both. By myself.
And this is why you’re I’m fat …
If you want to see some ridic food porn, check out the blog This Is Why You’re Fat. (That’s where I got the phrase from not from my own low self esteem. Trust.)
And if the phrase “This is why you’re fat” offends you check out www.don’ttakemyblogsoseriously.com.
So yeah, I also got a churro. Tragic, right? Not really because I got Oxygen magazine so I’ll learn a few new workout moves to help work it off. At least in theory???
I drove home while contemplating a cereal recipe called “Cinnamon Churro Crunch” that would be like Cinnamon Toast Crunch, but 199x better if that’s possible.
In all seriousness I ate a little more than half the churro and savored every bite. Loved it. I had a few bites, but didn’t end up being the biggest fan of the sundae and brought it home for Ben. I’ll probably polish off the churro later if Ben doesn’t get it first.
I feel like my inner Intuitive Eater is satisfied and I’m happy.

Costco’s Berry Sundaes are my favourite! They’re not nearly as good at the Costco’s in Canada though, so I always convince my mom to share one with me when we make a trip to Washington, otherwise I know I’ll eat the whole thing in 5 seconds flat.
I didn’t even know Costco sold Churro’s! Must be because my eyes are always on the sundaes. I’ll have to try one out next time I’m there!
Glen says
Am I the only person that thinks that the girl on the magazine cover looks JUST like you!!!
runeatrepeat says
Ben thinks that, but I told him he’s crazy 🙂
Sarah @ Food and Love Diaries says
Bahahaha the someecard makes this even better!! And you’re definitely not fat.. you’re lookin’ smokin hot!
RunEatRepeat says
Thanks, but I actually don’t think of “fat” as a bad word…
Theodora says
My friend’s boyfriend started This Is Why You’re Fat! There’s a book, too…
Nicole says
OMG – I just went to this little FroYo place last night….one of their toppings: Leftover Cinnamon Sugar Donut Holes (cut into pieces). OMGOMGOMG!! Soo delish with vanilla FroYo.
Paige says
I won’t make two batches of pancakes either. Too much work- ESP for a Monday!
Karlene says
Ha! How ironic! Did you know Post came out with a Mini Cinnamon Churro cereal recently?? I just discovered it at my local Super Walmart yesterday!
Also, love your blog! I discovered you from A Domestic Wannabe’s blog the other week. You inspired me to go try zumba out. My first class is tomorrow, can’t wait! 🙂
runeatrepeat says
Another reader just sent me the info on that Churro cereal! Ah! Now I want it.
adriana says
It’s at Ralph’s!
Sarah@The Flying ONION says
Mmm…yummy pancakes!
And I really must try zumba. I’ve heard only good things about it, and it sounds like such a great (FUN) workout! 😀
rumfunandsun says
Thanks for those pancakes! They made me happy this morning! Also, buying Oxygen when eating a Churro bring balance back to The Force!
Bee @ B*tchy Bee says
Hahaha, yes! I love This is why you’re fat. My friend and I used to go through it and send each other pictures all the time, but then the site disappeared! Apparently it’s back now at the address you posted!! YESSS. I’m a little too excited about this….lol
Lauren says
I made banana pancakes yesterday and definitely played that song during the process. It’s only natural. 😉
So true story, I haven’t eaten fast food in years, but the Berry Frosty from Wendy’s is so tempting!!! That sundae looks similar.
Summer T says
Love Costco, love their churros & sundaes and love that you got both!!!!!!
Debbie says
You always make me smile. Can I go to costco with you next time? I have always wanted to try the churro and talk myself out of it because my husband won’t split it with me.
Jenn says
Just wanted to say that your husband’s breakfast looks better than yours! Such a good wife 😉
c says
I can’t believe you got a churro AND a sundae from Costco. I’m surprised you’re not frying your watermelon and broccoli and rolling it in sugar too. What kind of personal trainer are you?!
Katherina @ Zephyr Runs says
Hah! A down to earth one, which is the only one worth having if you ask me 🙂
Katherina @ Zephyr Runs says
Oh and holler @ reading skills: “In all seriousness I ate a little more than half the churro and savored every bite. Loved it. I had a few bites, but didn’t end up being the biggest fan of the sundae and brought it home for Ben. I’ll probably polish off the churro later if Ben doesn’t get it first. “
Lindsey says
I heart Costco and their ice cream is the BEST! But up in Canada the sundaes are half that size, we are totally getting ripped off! haha 😉
Nicole @ Giraffelegs says
oh godd….I clicked on the food website..now I’m hungry
I like you and hate you at the same time 😉
Clare @ Fitting It All In says
So impressed that you could stop eating those two things! I have trouble stopping. Self Control and intuitive eating is so rewarding:)
Amanda says
I now want to try the churro and the sundae. I haven’t ever had either and I love Costco!
Banana Pancakes is stuck in my head now!
Jen G. says
We talk about ThisIsWhyYoureFat.com at work. We currently in the midst of the hiring process and want to do a spin-off site: ThisIsWhyYoureNotGettingHired.com. It’s astounding what people do when job-hunting.
Katherina @ Zephyr Runs says
I would read a site like that 😛
Liz @ Something To Chew On says
Great post!
I need to go to Costco rehab…I seriously cannot get enough of that place.
Katy (The Singing Runner) says
You are hilarious! Loved this post!!! 🙂
Kristen says
Churros…churros…I miss Costco!
Gina @ Running to the Kitchen says
Costco churros are seriously impressive. It’s probably a good thing we our Sam’s Club members and Costco is 45 minutes. If you succeed at the 9:30 bedtime this week I want to know how! I always tell myself I need to go to bed earlier and it just doesn’t happen. Need more hours in the day!
Katherina @ Zephyr Runs says
I would have gotten the churro & sundae, too. I also am gullible as sin and clicked that link that led me right back to RER.
Ashley @ Will Run for Food says
Ooh I love churros! Fried and sugary…what could be better? 🙂
Katie says
This post made me smile! Those pancakes look fabulous, but where on earth did you get that sundae? Okay, now I need to get back to watch lots of Jersey reality TV shows. Have a great week!
runeatrepeat says
It’s a Costco sundae and was under 2 dollars. No joke.
Mallory @ It's Only Life says
You are too funny! That sundae looked AMAZING. Out of curiosity, what does the breaded “chicken” taste like and is it expensive?
runeatrepeat says
I think it tastes like real chicken nuggets (which kinda taste fake anyways right?)! That brand is super expensive (to me), but I found them on clearance by some miracle.
Christine @ BookishlyB says
Not that I should talk… but rest days? I know there is a lot of opinions on their importance and the amount necessary- what’s your stance? I try to take one. This may be a good question for “Ask a Monican” 🙂
runeatrepeat says
I ALWAYS take at least one rest day a week. Today was my rest day – Zumba isn’t working out to me, I feel like it’s equal to taking a walk.
Christine @ BookishlyB says
That makes sense. Zumba looks so fun but I’m nervous to try considering my less than stellar dance skill and inability to keep rhythm 🙂
Lorin says
Haha, okay I’m happy I’m not the only one to click on the link! I acutally googled it too, but alas, it doesn’t exist. 🙂
Lorin says
I love costco and walking around for all the samples. I also love the baked goods area but never actually get anything because I don’t need 12 muffins the size of my head! When my family comes for Christmas we get it and we finish it off pretty fast with a bunch of people here. I’ve never tried their fro yo sundae thing. I think it’s because I like to be able to have my own portion, which is why I love frozen yogurt places (but I’m really there for the toppings)!
Lorin says
Is that don’ttakemyblogsoseriously.com a real website or are you just making it up? I clicked on it but it didn’t work. I wasn’t sure if it was an actual blog or not 😛
runeatrepeat says
I just made it up, but it might be a real site?
Kelly says
I clicked the link too! haha! Someone should make a site like that. I’d love it.
runeatrepeat says
I am reading your blog right now! Love that 🙂
