Hello! I hit up the Tinkerbell Half Marathon / 10K Race Expo today. I love Disney races (even though I had to sell a kidney to afford this one)! You don’t need two kidneys to run 13.1 miles, right? Can a doctor let me know before Sunday? Thanks.
The expo is part of the race weekend fun. Often I’m kind of not super excited about about race expos anymore because they’re all so the same. But I still really dig Disney Race expos – there is something about the ambiance, energy, music, photo-ops… I don’t know but it’s fun and exciting!
I hit up the expo today fairly early to beat the traffic. That didn’t work out super well since the usual Downtown Disney parking lot I use was closed. But they directed traffic to the Disneyland Hotel lot and I was ready to go. The expo was very well organized and I feel like the volunteers always know their stuff.
Maybe I’m partial to Run Disney expos because I see so many of my favorite companies and people. Right away I spotted Bobbi at the Raw Threads booth and then hung out with Kelly at the Sparkle Skirt booth. I basically pretended like I worked there and chimed in on what people were buying with my unsolicited encouragement and opinion. I’m sorry or you’re welcome – not sure which.
The Sparkle girls paid me in donuts, which is my favorite form of payment.
They have a whole donut theme going on with their new gear too!
I walked around a bit before remembering I had to get home to make my costumes for the race!
Carissa grabbed a group shot for us at the Sparkle Skirt booth. She and Andrea are announcing the race! Is announcing” the proper way to say it? I have no idea. Anyway.
Everyone was having a great time, except for Kelly who was mad that we were pulling her away from her donut eating duties to snap a pic.
It was another good expo in the books and I walked away with some sparkle for my running costume.
I wanted my costume to be a surprise, but I have to share that Vegas stepped on my work-in-progress costume and totally smeared it! Not cool cat, not cool

We are watching Captain America today with the whole fam! And we have matching shirts 😉 And we’ll cap off the night by making a scratch carrot cake for the family tomorrow. Good luck at the race and have fun running in a bit of rain!

This race so fun to me. I hope I get to run it some day. I’m not sure what it is with donuts and runners but I’m completely ok with it.
