Top Style Sunday and Week 2 of 10K Training

My Life· Running

Hello! How’s it going?

Yesterday I was super efficient with running and cleaning and having fun. (Today not-so-much!).

if i was drunk

Last night I got ready with drink in hand. It was a disaster waiting to happen. I’m still shocked I didn’t get eyeliner all over my face (something I’ve done sober even).

friends dont let drinks do hair drunk

I got a ton of questions on “What are those turtles in your hair?!?!”

Ha! Love that you thought I was drunk enough to mistake reptiles for rollers.

I used my favorite hot rolling system – the Top Styler! I used to use a very small pack of travel hot rollers (since I spent half of my time on the road last year) but those finally broke and I started using these and never looked back.

Now it’s time to get ready for a great week!

I started my day with a very early wake up call and a very early breakfast. Sunday morning pancakes were a must, but I didn’t want to get too crazy with it so I used my super easy 3 ingredient pancake recipe.

Who’s training for something right now? What??

10K Training Week 2

If you’re training for a 10k around Thanksgiving here is week 2:

Question: What is 1 thing you are doing to prep for a great week?

Plan your exercise? Meals? Stock up on healthy food? Call your mom?

Indian summer the past weekend in the Midlothian, Virginia. Did some hot runs and watched my boys play soccer while I worked on my tan.
Does the top styler work well with thick hair? Also how about shoulder length hair?
I love how it styled your hair!
    Thanks for sharing with us.

I am following your training plan!! I have always run sporadically but since I am doing a Turkey Trot at the end of November with my dad, I want to be prepared! I can’t let him beat me!!

Your hair looks so good! I have so much hair so typical hot rollers don’t work so good, maybe I should try those!

I did groceries this weekend and washed and cut up some veggies. I also made some baby food for the little one.

I’m training for the Marine Corp 10k. It’s run at the same time as the Marathon. Can’t wait!

I actually blew off all responsibilities yesterday to do Wanderlust 108, which is basically the hippie version of a triathlon and as it turns out, the is SUPER FUN!

I’m not really training for anything right now, just trying not to lose too much fitness while I heal from a really dumb injury. At least I can still run enough to maintain my sanity! Also, all these cross-training activities have showed me that there are other muscles in the body besides leg muscles, which has been a pretty exciting discovery.

Definitely going to check out those turtle hairstylers! I’m all for beauty tools that remind me of reptiles (hence my large collection of alligator clips). Thanks for sharing!

I ended up going to the store last night because I was out of anything healthy. I try not to do too much on weekends though. Gotta mentally prepare for the week.

I picked up a few groceries last night so I would have food for the week. Plums, salad items, hummus and my all important Superpretzels. I also put “most” of my clean laundry away. So basically a sub par week prep performance. 🙂

Monica, I know you run marathons like nobody’s business, so how is the 10k training feelibg for you? Pretty easy and less time consuming I suppose?

Love your hair, and I want to try those rollers. To prepare for the week, I have a fridge stocked with healthy food and a week’s worth of group fitness classes I’m teaching on the agenda. It should be a good done. Happy Sunday:)

I’m getting a massage bc I just ran my first marathon yesterday and I feel like my legs are going to fall off. So hopefully that will help me recover faster and make for a more pleasant week!!

I did a ton of grocery shopping this weekend – Costco, Whole Foods (twice) and Target. I am starting the week fully stocked on healthy food!
