Trader Joe’s Tuesday

Uncategorized

17 Apr

Hello! How’s your Tuesday going?

After my morning clients I hit up the store for a complete grocery haul. I ate some dirty grapes and 6 handfuls of cashews around 10am.

I ended up eating lunch a little early because I had a noon personal trainer team meeting at work. It was the usual. I had several questions about the veggie burger on my salad last week. It’s a huge pack of Morningstar Patties from Costco. It’s in my Costco Must Haves post. 150 calories, 18g of protein, can’t beat it. IMG_9996 (800x600)

Then, I hit up my meeting. We have them in the Pilates room and either sit on a reformer or on the floor. Since working in a gym means working one-on-one with clients, I don’t get to hang out with my co-workers like I used to when I worked in an office. I definitely miss that part of work. So, it’s nice to just sit and catch up with everyone for a few minutes Smile

After the meeting I went to Trader Joes for milk and a salad dressing refill. I spotted this new-to-me flavor of Greek Yogurt – Mango. TJ’s has had full fat mango for a long, long time but this 0% is new!IMG_0001 (800x600)

I eat this every.single.day. IMG_0004 (600x800)Makes for one hell of an exciting blog, right? Too bad I love it. If you want excitement answer a Craigslist dating ad. If you want the same picture of Peanut Dressing salad 7 days a week you’ve come to the right place!

Today’s Trader Joe’s Haul included: 2 salad dressings, green onions, yogurt, almond butter, organic milk, unsweetened ice tea, a diet Hansen’s and Just a Handful of cashews.IMG_0007 (800x600)

After eating 6 handfuls of cashews earlier, I decided some portion control was in order and (reluctantly) bought these.IMG_0009 (800x600)

See ya later Smile

You are so witty. I loved the throwaway line about Craigslist. Amazing.

Craigslist is just plain creepy! What a neat idea for portion control for those cashews. I love roasted, salted cashews but it’s so hard to stop at just a few!

Right? I know I’m overly cautious, but answering an ad like that sounds weird.

I love seeing what other people discover at Trader Joes. I have to look for the mango yogurt, I tried the mango lassi a few weeks ago and it was delicious. Those pre-portioned bags definitely worth the extra cost!

Wow so pumped to see 0% Mango flavor although the full fat was quite amazing. I treated it more like a dessert but now that there is a 0% I won’t feel as bad eating it for breakfast. 🙂

I meant to ask you about the veggie burgers all last week! I did a quick Kroger stop tonight and got some Morning Star spicy black bean patties and tried it in a salad tonight – I actually really liked it. I’m going to have to hit Costco for the giant pack!

That’s pretty funny that you all use the reformers as “office chairs”. You could always multi-task during the meetings–work + core.

    Portion control–with cashews especially? What’s that? 😀

I love TJ’s, one of the first things we did when we were considering moving to Washington state was to look and see if a TJ’s was anywhere near; they opened the first one up here shortly that, so we could safely move. Not sure we would have done it without one being close enough to make a weekly trek. I think I need to get the Just a Handful package next time we’re there. I’m surprised that I haven’t seen them as often as I find myself gazing at the fruit and nuts there.

Looks like a good haul from TJ’s. I don’t do my normal weekly grocery shopping there, but now that I’m going vegetarian, it sounds like they’ll become a staple in my life real fast. I’ve got to get some almond butter, can you believe I’ve actually never had it before?!

I totally have a problem with portion control with cashews, almonds, walnuts – frankly, ANY nut. I have to buy my nuts from the bulk bins in single portions (yes, I am at the natural foods store pretty much every day!) otherwise I easily eat 1000+ calories of nuts in one sitting!
