Watermelon Water Smoothie

Smoothies

29 Jun

Hello! How’s it going? I’m on week 2 of marathon training! Except I don’t really know what race I’m trying for. I’ll get on that soon.

This morning I did a speed run of 1 mile warm up, 4 x 800s at about 7 effort and 1 mile cool down.

in it for the long run (450x800)

I saw my little baby duck friends this morning too! I love them so much Smile There are actually a few lil duck families in the river bed and these babies are super tiny. The ones from a few weeks ago are already getting so big!

Post run I made a delicious smoothie with: ice, blueberries, vanilla protein powder, hemp seeds and watermelon water. (I blend the hemp seeds right in it, but you can also use it as a topping.)

But that was way too healthy so I had some of my PB M&M Cookies too.

They’re kind of like my Oatmeal Breakfast Cookie, right?

Yyyeah. Keep telling yourself that Monican.

Maybe I’ll make a smoothie for dinner too…

Gross!

Question: What was for breakfast over there?

Have you ever had cookies for breakfast?

Cookies for breakfast, as well as chocolate can be a regular thing for me. I guess we shouldn’t have to wait until a certain time of day to eat them, right?

I’m a big fan of the breakfast cookie with a little fruit and Greek yogurt on the side! My go-to lately has been fruit, Greek yogurt, chopped almonds and 1/2 cup Fiber One…it’s been fueling my summer runs pretty well!

Breakfast for me this morning was greek yogurt, granola, strawberries, and a small handful of chocolate chips. Have definitely had cookies for breakfast-that was one of the perks of staying with one set of grandparents-chips ahoy for breakfast! YUM!

Belvita biscuits for breakfast, because they avoid me “accidentally” polishing off a 600 kcal bowl of delicious cereal.

I woke at 2am absolutely starving this morning, and had to have some toast. I think an 11 mile run yesterday evening, followed by a very low carb dinner left me a little depleted. So yeah, maybe that was breakfast.

Oh, and a huge coffee which I am drinking now. Always.

Today’s breakfast (it’s actually the same for workdays) – crackers with PB. Cookies for brekkie – that’s my indulgence on weekends.

I’ve definitely had cookies for breakfast! Haha.

Today started out good — I had some nonfat peach yogurt. But then I had a cinnamon bun and a latte. Should have stopped while I was ahead… Still delicious though!

I’m definitely going to have to try that smoothie recipe! I keep seeing hemp seeds everywhere. Do you notice a difference when you eat them? Or did you just Google them like me and see that they’re healthy, lol.

I definitely have had cookies for breakfast – but today was a yogurt parfait with lots of cereal!

I would love to hear what you do for marathon training, even if it’s just a vague outline of a plan. I’m training for my first but have done a few half marathons and longer distances so I don’t know quite where to start in most plans or how to work through my own!

it’s nice to hear more details about your training-hope you plan on sharing more about running/workouts. i’m always curious to hear what other people are doing to get faster.

around the holidays cookies end up being breakfast. i should eat them in the morning more often.

I had homemade almond butter on cinnamon raisin bread bc I was going to work out right after I woke up. Then I came home and had a giant blueberry basil protein smoothie. If you had asked me about my food yesterday that would have been a completely different story…

Do you have your own almond butter recipe, or did you find it online / in a book? I’m interested!
