Why I Don’t Put My Dirty Clothes in the Hamper

Hello! How’s it going? How’s your week? How’s your life? Tell me. I need a friends.

All I have now is my cat, Vegas. But at least he doesn’t judge me for eating almond butter out of the jar (multiple times a day).

This morning I took a walk to get warmed up and catch up with my What’s App friends who live on the east coast.

Then, I made a quick protein shake and headed to a strength class at the gym. It was a great class! I really love the instructor and am considering stalking her at the other gym where she teaches. I’m a stage 5 clinger. Too bad.

I got caught up on email and projects today. So I’m pretty happy with the productivity level of the day. But, I have to admit I thought it was Monday all day and just realized I’m way off. Ha!

In Vegas news… he loves to sleep on dirty clothes lately so I can’t put them in the hamper. Where would he sleep if I was actually not messy for once?!  And really if he didn’t have dirty clothes to enjoy he’d find something clean to put his fur all over so I think this is a smart move overall.

It’s Pad Thai Tuesday! One of the local Thai restaurants (there are tons of great ones around here) has a special on Tuesdays and I am addicted.

I am not doing well this week. I don’t feel well. My stomach is not right and I have no energy as a result. So, I actually went to the gym the other day to workout and left after doing 1/2 of one set. Last night I did most of my routine and 10 minutes at a slow pace on the elliptical machine. But I am not feeling well. So, do I beat myself up and say, “You didn’t meet your goals this week?” Or do I push myself really hard even though I feel yucky. I’m leaning towards just taking it for what it is. If I’m up to it, I can push a little harder next week. If the gym is open on Thanksgiving morning, I’ll even try to get in there for a workout first thing, just to finish strong.

    I love pad thai!

Tuesday = 4 treadmill miles with some tempo built in! I’m running my first ever 5k race. It’s funny that I am intimidated since I’ve run several 1/2 marathons and a marathon, but I know I have to push myself to go faster if I want to hit my goal.

It has been so hot (Australia…) that I haven’t been able to go out during daylight. Like over 100 F hot. Do you run in that in California?! I’m still determined to POTM with you though…might be a lot of walking though.

After one full month without running to try to let my plantar fasciitis heal up, I went out for an easy 4-miler this morning. POTM running total for the month thus far: 4 miles. 😉 Unfortunately, this evening my heel hurts as much as ever and I am hobbling around pretty frustrated.

My early morning running buddy cancelled, so I ended up going back to bed 🙁 I wasn’t feeling that great anyway, so I decided that today could be a rest day, and tomorrow (when I was planning on resting) I could fit a run in. I’m still well on my way to 5 workouts this week, and I’m doing waaaaay better with my eating so I’m alright with my decision 🙂

I ran a little over 3 miles this morning on the treadmill while watching American Horror Story. Since the show is a bit scary and my treadmill is in the basement I spend a lot of time thinking I am seeing or hearing things, but hey…it helps get my heart rate up even more. The challenge is going ok overall. My exercise is great…it’s the staying away from sweets that’s lacking. I’m gonna work harder on getting that piece of my life together.
