I was woken up this morning a succession of dings from my phone. My Reach the Beach team members have started a text group and were chatting away. I think I’m the lone soul from the west coast so it was already 8am for them, but it was only 5am for me.
I guess they’re trying to get me used to the time change already!![]()
I have a ton to do today so I decided to get up and get going. I ran 5.something miles and ate breakfast.
Sad news: I think I’m over eggs. I’m not sick of them as much as grossed out because I forgot to mention that my egg from yesterday was under cooked and slimy. I’m gagging right now writing that. When I get back into town I’m hitting up the store for some breakie alternatives.![]()
I have no idea how chefs stay so slim! I eat a full meal’s worth of “bites” while cooking all the time!
This new book by Allison Adato shares Lessons in Eating and Living from America’s Best Chefs
“Chefs such as Tom Colicchio, Cat Cora, Alexandra Guarnaschelli, Thomas Keller, Wolfgang Puck, Marcus Samuelsson, and Michael Symon touch on eating what they love, dessert, how to eat out, and more!”

I am putting in a full day of work, then train 2 clients tonight and head straight from the gym to the airport for my red eye flight to Boston. Got any tips on how to sleep well on the flight?! Please share.
Ohhh this sounds like a great book to read! I have such a problem of eating what I’m making all time too!
Hmm they probably get tired being around food so often that it looses appeal? I wouldn’t know…lol
Looks like a good book! I will read anything for ideas on how to stay slim!
oooo I could really use that book! I too eat a meals worth of bites cooking, way too often! I’ve tried chewing gum but doesn’t always work..hopefully this book with give me some useful tips!
oooh I be that book has some interesting material in it! i would love to see the perspective of a chef on how they stay skinny! probably very small bites of food to taste
Neck Pillows are a dream when sleeping on a plane.
sign me up 🙂
stay in california where the weather is better!!! lol Boston weather has been sucking the past couple of days :/
Have fun on the relay! And can I have the book…please…please…please
I’ve always wondered how Guy from Diner’s, Drive-Ins and Dives keeps from gaining a ton of weight!
Resident of Earth? Well ok then…
I need good tips as well because I’m going to Italy in September and it’s a lonnggg flight there.
I really enjoy reading your blog, and i would love to read this book.
Love your blog! Boston rules…kick butt! And that book looks awesome!
Hey Monica!
I haven’t been feeling eggs lately either. I totally get it!
Thanks for offering this book giveaway!
I usually have to make sure I sleep during take off/landing to avoid my ear from popping and being completely miserable–I usually use the time between turn your electronics off and the actual landing/taking off part to zone out….next thing I know–I’m out!
Cool book give away!
My dad’s wisdom about dining out was to never eat food from a thin chef. If he was fat, he clearly liked his cooking!
I would love this book!
Try chewing gum while you cook it helps!
Man, I don’t know how to sleep on flights. I used to be able to when I was little, but now I can’t even doze on little to no sleep! I might be flying out Friday, depending on the fire situation out in nevada. Fingers crossed!!
I’ve read to a few fun chef memoirs, and this one sounds like another great book.
This sounds great!
Good luck in reach the beach!!
I started my blog yesterday. Follow me!!!
I would love to read that!!
Cuddle up on your creepy neighbor’s shoulder… they appreciate that, especially if you drool on them. Taking a melatonin before bed normally helps me sleep a little better. Good luck!
Umm, I guess Paula Dean didn’t contribute to this book….would love to hear some of the chefs’ tips!
UGH I can’t do slimy eggs. I don’t blame you. I like cottage cheese with peanuts..mixed in..so good!
I am a huge fan of health books, but I am usually very particular about which ones I read. The “Smart Chefs Stay Slim” book looks an excellent read!!
Sleeping pill? Or melatonin?
That book looks pretty rad, and I love to read.
Why should I get a copy of the book?! 🙂
a) I follow 10 food/ healthy living blogs and I am only 20 years old.
b) I grew up watching the Food Network with my mom.
c) I cook dinner with my roommates most nights of the week.
d) I recently gained a teeeeensy (read:10 lbs.) bit of weight after moving into my apartment and cooking with said roommates
e) I LOVE food!
f) I love to run!
g) I love to read
h) did I mention I love to cook?
Haha- win it or not, I think I’ll check this book out!
I’m a chef and struggle with eating small bites here and there all day long! I don’t actually sit to have a meal but end up eating soo much throughout the day! I neeeed that book! hahaha
I would love the book, as I love to cook! Hopefully, it would be helpful info seeing as somehow I’ve gained 10 lbs training for the RnR Portland 1/2 marathon this weekend 😉
We are friends with an executive chef and he has always been thin. I am intrigued about their willpower being around food all the time. Good luck this weekend!!!
Wow! I would love to win the book. I would cook everything in it. I’m a HUGE Food Network fan.
This book looks ab-fab, I need some guidance in moderation 🙂
That books looks cool! I love Tom Colicchio!
“Never trust a skinny chef!” At least that’s what they say in the restaurant biz…that’s not on tv. LOL, can’t wait to hear about your Boston experience!
Ear buds and a cocktail = Sleep! haha but seriously I would love to win that book!
I take dramamine about 30 minutes before boarding and immediately fall asleep when the plane takes off. It’s awesome.
I’d love to win that book. To asleep on a plane take ambian.
Pick me! Pick me! I need some new healthy recipes to get back on track.
Always love a cookbook!
Hey! I would love to win this cookbook. I’m a student living on the west coast, just in Canada! I love cooking and inventing new recipes, but also have the bad habit of eating along the way – till the point where I’m full before dinner! I just started reading your blog and love it. Vancouver needs more healthy eating/exer food blogs like yours.
looks like a great read! 🙂 safe flight.
I’m reading this while popping cookie dough bites into my mouth.
i always snack while i am cooking! till i am too full to eat dinner! it’s a problem. 🙂
Trader Joe’s Chewable Melatonin is my go to for long flights! Natural and makes you nod off! A
I never sleep well on a plane, so my only travel tip is “be prepared not to sleep.” Somehow, knowing I can’t sleep makes it take less of a toll on me than if I plan on trying to and then fail.
I’d love that book! I work in food and beverage and just love that chefs are approaching food AND their waistlines with thoughtfulness toward the ingredients they use.
oooh-sounds like an interesting read! (as I sit here watching The Barefoot Contessa!) I’m running Reach the Beach this weekend, too-maybe I’ll see you!
Yeah! Good luck this weekend!!
That book looks great! 🙂
I’ve eaten a lot of egg + cheese bagel sandwiches over the past two months, after having never eaten them. Now I’m so over them. I need a break, but I’m sure they’ll make an appearance in my life soon.
I love to cook! And of course “tasting it” while preparing is always necessary. That happens to me with eggs too. I crave them and eat them often and then all of a sudden they gross me out! They are pretty alright for me right now 🙂
i’ve never heard of this book before but it sounds awesome!
The book looks great! Wear an eyemask. You may look like a goon, but it’ll work!
GOOD MORNING SUNSHINE!
I ate egg beaters almost every day in college and now i can’t hardly stand them! I o’d something major. This book looks great though!
I would love to win this cookbook because I’ve recently started cooking a lot more, and I would love to hear what all those famous chefs have to say!
I am terrible about sampling while I cook/bake. Cookie dough is my downfall.
Would love to have a look at this book.
<~ Gained 10 lbs recently. I would love to read that book.
Also, Vodka.
Oh that book sounds interesting! I don’t think I’ve ever entered my kitchen without leaving with something in my mouth! I could use the tips 🙂
I would love to win this book! I’m currently training for my second marathon, and trying to learn how to cook healthy, delicious meals. It would be great to read chefs’ advice on how to stay slim- because I know after my last marathon I kept eating like I was still training… 😉
Woops.
As a chef, I will tell you that when I am cooking and creating alot I have to change my workouts to adjust for my OVER eating. Crazy cycle for sure. This book looks like a good one for sure.
Giada DiLaurentis baffles me. She makes all this amazing Italian food, but is skinny skinny! I’m jealous!
People of earth…how are you?
Good luck with the reach the beach marathon.
I love all the celebrity chefs, and it would be neat to hear their perspective and tips.
I would be interested in knowing how smart chefs stay slim!!! I have always heard that you should never trust a skinny chef!!!!:-)
~Laura
Im in a cooking rut as we speak! Love to win.
Sounds like a great book! So good that I would consider reading something off of my kindle if I won it! ha ha ;0)
Haha me too! I’m never hungry after I’m done baking – as I tend to leave 1/4 of the cake batter and frosting in the bowl to lick clean.
The breakfast place we eat at after our runs scrambled my eggs instead of frying them this morning… YUCK!!! Looks like a neat book!
i am in a cooking rut, i’m sure this is the key for me to get out of it 🙂
Looks like a great book! I would like to hear tips on how to sleep well on a flight too. I have a hard enough time sleeping at home, let alone on a plane!
I want to read that book! Eggs gross me out lately too. Your eggs always look so good though!!
Love all those chefs! A copy of that book would be great.
Maybe read something utterly boring so you fall asleep.
I want to win 🙂
I almost gagged just hearing that description about your egg! But then again, eggs are not something I can eat very often.
I would love a copy of that book.
I know it was so gross 🙁
drink lots of wine!!!
My friend takes Gravol on long flights to knock her out. I enjoy listening to podcasts while wearing my hood, lol. Safe flight!
I have always believed “Never trust a skinny chef!” just like “Never trust a tattoo artist with no tattoo’s!” Would love to hear what they have to say.
The book would be great. These chef’s do not scrimp on flavor and seem to enjoy an entire meal.
If you figure out how to sleep on a plane I want to know!
I would like to read the book…I would probably buy it if I saw it. Good luck sleeping on the plane, I have never managed to figure it out for myself. Sleeping pills just leave me awake 🙁
Hi — I don’t want to win this book (since I wrote it)! But thrilled to see lots of people interested, so thanks much for posting, Monica. Good luck to all and if you don’t win I hope you’ll still considered checking the book out. Great site!
Thanks for stopping by Allison!
Definitely need this book. I always knock myself out with Benadryll on flights 🙂
I love that this is open to all residents of Earth. It’s too bad for other planets I guess! 😉
That sounds like an interesting book. The slimy eggs not so interesting or good sounding. I’m looking forward to see how you do with the race. I’m sure you’ll do well.
I would love to win the book. My husband is actually a skinny chef too, I dont know how he does it. If I spent all day in the kitchen my body would show it.
This book sounds interesting. It sucks to get the meal all made, but then be too full from sampling my efforts. I eat a hardboiled egg EVERYDAY. My mom has chickens, so we have eggs a plentiful!
that book sounds great! i totally have that same problem haha
and for sleeping tips, one word: dramamine.
Would love to read this book! And I’m with you on slimy eggs…ick.
Ewww, I HATE undercooked eggs!!! You made me want to gag reading that! I found the key to flying anywhere is to bring a blanket…those damn planes are always so cold!
That book sounds really interesting. I am the same way when I am cooking. 9 times out of 10 I am already full when it comes down to sitting at the table to eat.
i have no idea how chefs stay slim…its hard enough for me and im not a chef haha.
no advice on the flight…i can never sleep on planes…when we flew to thailand i was up the entire time..i watched 7 movies haha. it sucked. hopefully you’ll have better luck!
I always try to cook the night before (after dinner and brushing my teeth/before going to bed) so I don’t get tempted to snack away. The con though is that you can’t taste the food to make sure it’s right, so you kind of have to stick to old recipes.
I’ve often wondered how chefs stay thin! Especially when they cook such decadent bread, pastries, and creamy dishes!
No advice on sleeping on the plane. I always spend the majority of the flight nodding off and then waking back up when my head falls!
Ooh, that book sounds like an awesome read! My sleep always sucks on planes, so I’ve got nothing for you. Love the blog though!
That book looks great! Enjoy the race this weekend:)
I could definitely use some tips from this book 🙂
I have never been able to sleep anywhere other than a bed. So, I’m sorry, I have no tips for you! The book sounds really interesting though. Maybe try to bring a boring book to help you nod off?
Tip for sleeping well on a plane: sleeping pill + red wine. You can just ignore the part on the pill box that says not to mix with alcohol. I only made it through half my glass of wine before passing out.
“Open to all residents of Earth” HAHAHAHAHAHA you are too funny!
Have a great time!!
Slimy and/or undercooked eggs are the most disgusting thing ever. I actually noticed in your picture yesterday and was confused! I’m sorry you’re over them… for now. RIP, eggs.
i’m such a food network junkie! i would love to read how some of my food idols dtay so slim!
Should be an interesting book. I’m really into cooking and would appreciate to find a way to stay thin!
My longest flight was 4 hours!
I don’t think it helps…
#1. I want to win the book- reasons as follows:
a. I love to read
b. I love to eat/cook
c. I love to win things 🙂
#2. I’m doing Reach the Beach NH in September! Can’t wait to hear how it goes for your team!!!!
Cheers!
~Marcy
That book sounds perfect for me! I love to cook and try new restaurants. While I cook pretty healthy it’s hard for me to choose healthy entrees when I eat out.
Wear a wide brimmed hat on the flight. Then pull the brim over your face for some quality nap time. It makes me less self concious that someone is watching me while I’m sleeping. You don’t want a creeper staring at you while you’re snoozing. Have a safe trip!
Yeah! This looks good!
When I was on a crazy ‘egg-kick’ for awhile, the only thing that got me through it and keep going with that delectable, protein-packed food was to spice it up! Try roasted jalapeños, onions or other fun veggies… I’m betting you won’t be disappointed!
I’d love to win that book. I’d also love to be able to make good dippy eggs. Lots of big dreams over here 😉
I LOVE cooking. And the best part of it is snacking the whole while. I call it “tasting”, but we all know that I just enjoy eating without any portion-control.
This book seems intriguing! I’d love to read it!
And I always have troubles with sleeping on the plane. Haven’t really figured out anything that would help me sleep.
Oh and hey, greetings from Estonia! 🙂
Oh that book looks really good! I’d love to read the tips they have!
God help me, I need some advice. If I was a chef Id need a hoveraround.
Reminds of the show Fat Chef on Fox. I also would find it impossible to diet with all those bites all the time.
I get sick of eggs sometimes too, and then I have to stay away from them for awhile! And that book looks like it would be great! I could definitely use some tips from it. 🙂
Interesting book! Sounds like a good read for a trip I will be taking in June.
Slimy egg? I overcook my poor eggs. I make them brown and crispy sometimes. Might be worse than slime. 🙂
This sounds like such a fun and interesting read. I’d love to win. 🙂
I’m the same way with eggs. For me, if the yolk tastes “off” then I can’t eat them for a really long time. Thankfully there are no yolks in cartons of egg whites so those are still fair game 🙂
ummm, Yeah I’d love this book. Because I cook many of their recipes so I need to figure out how to balance out the eating and remaining fit!
Sounds like a book I need–I tend to sample a little too much when I’m cooking, I’d like to know how to balance things out! I get the being over eggs things; I go through phases like that, too. Good luck finding an alternative!
I LOVE Cat Cora, but I also love eating a bit too much.. So I would love to read how professionals, who work around food all the time manage to stay so slim and fit! Could definitely use some tips… 🙂
Try Melatonin – 1/2 gram should do ya. 🙂
I love reading your website……I feel like I can relate because I am also incredibly snacky….
I always bring socks or little slippers, I hate sleeping in shoes but I won’t go barefoot on a plane.
Good luck sleeping on the plane! Bring a neck pillow if possible.. my neck always seems to be pinched the next day if I sleep on a plane.
Love the blog! Special K Blueberry cereal mixed with cottage cheese is my go-to breakfast when I’m not feeling like eggs! Good luck in Boston.
have a great day! good luck in the relay!
Have fun in Boston!
The only thing that helps me sleep on airplanes is something comfy for my head to rest on, whether it’s a pillow, shoulder, or cozy jacket.
Sleeping on the flight = melatonin.
Eye mask, blanket, and mini bottle of wine = sleep on a plane. Workes like a charm. 🙂
I’m no chef, but I’d love the book!
So me, by the time dinner is ready, i’m full! sigh!
I can sleep anywhere so I have no tips…enjoy your trip!
I’m interested to see what a chef eats during their work day. Sounds interesting!
I would LOVE to win this book! I also eat waaaay too much when cooking! 🙂
I always wonder about some of the skinny chefs, hopefully I win this give away & I can read about it. 🙂
Regarding flights, traveling frequently helps with my comfort level, but I use a small blanket (or my coat) to cover at least my arms & lap. Headphones/ear buds for classical music on repeat help me. I’m not sensitive to light, but if you are, bring sunglasses or an eye mask. The biggest thing that helps me is being super tired – so get to bed a smidge late, and get up on the morning of your flight on east-coast time & be active all day.
Enjoy your trip – the weather here in Boston looks nice for the weekend!
The book looks interesting. I always sleep on the plane because im horrified. I have to take something. LOL – Have you seen the episode of Modern Family where they go to Hawaii and Claire is freaking out? That’s me.
I feel the same way about undercooked eggs, blech!
I work in the food industry in NYC, I totally want this book!
Hi! I always sleep better if I read a book, if I listen to music on the other hand I just can’t fall asleep for some reason.. Don’t know if that’s just me though. Another thing is that you make sure to wear comfortable clothes, it makes it a lot easier feeling comfortable enough to go to sleep. Have a good flight!
I’ve wondered that too- about half of whatever I’m cooking goes straight into my mouth!
Book sounds great. Would love a copy.
I am in culinary school, so I could use these tips!
The book sounds great, I would love it!
Having a glass of wine before flights help me 🙂
I would love to win this book! I love to bake but can never seem to keep myself from licking the kitchenaid paddle! lol
looks like a great book! I would love to win!
Bring earplugs and something to prop your head up with (hopefully you’re in the window seat). A beer/glass of wine before or on the flight never hurts to help lull you into sleep!
The book looks like a great read! I’m just hoping it’s more informative than, “The skinny chefs don’t constantly eat what they’re cooking.”
I can’t wait to hear all about your relay. I have relay fever since completing Ragnar So Cal. (My team wasn’t very fun, so I really want to do another with a crazier bunch.)
I would love a copy of this book! I snack alll the while cooking!
I’m actually impressed with myself for baking a crap-ton of goodies last week and not taking a single bite! No spoonfuls of batter, no corner piece, no crumb.
On another note, I am super jealous you’re going to Boston (re: Dunkin Donuts) I just moved to Calgary, AB from there and believe me, Tim Horton’s doesn’t even hold a flame to DD. Sad face.
Oo I’d love a copy! Top Chef Tom is my fave! 😉 I stick to pickles, Snooki-style, when I get back from the gym and have to start to cook. It keeps me from eating everything before it hits my plate.
This book sounds like the Mecca of all mu favorite chefs!
have a glass of wine!
id like to win! tip to sleep = large glass of wine.
Sleeping well on a plane is usually impossible for me, but I think the one time I did it was because I didn’t get any sleep the night before. useless advice, I know…sorry! 🙁
If its a long flight I’d use one of those eye pillows to black
Out the light. I always wonder how chefs stay thin so I’m interested to check that book out! I’m not a big taster as I cook but am intrigued at how chefs select their meals when dining out.
Have fun @ RTB!
I need this! I, too, cook, snack and eat 🙂 Good thing I run!
I cannot sleep on the plane so I have no tips! 🙁 My sister sleeps on planes and I think she uses one of those wrap around neck pillows. *shrugs*
I’m always baffled by thin chefs, as well!
I always wonder about that when I see Cat Cora on t.v.!
No suggestions on how to sleep better on a plane…I’m terrible at that!
That book looks so interesting!!!! Good luck this weekend–have a blast : )
Ooooh! I’m intrigued by what these chefs suggest to do when eating out.
that book looks great!
Bring earplugs – they’re a godsend for blocking out airplane noise & crying babies. Also, if you wear sandals or flats, bring socks (I’m weird and can’t sleep if my feet are cold).
I always bring socks on a plane because my mom taught me to 🙂
I like to bring my earbuds w/ me on the plane and sometimes will listen to music, sometimes not until I fall asleep. The Sony earbuds close out so much noise!
I would love to win that book!!
I love the concept of this book! With all of the decadent, amazing food these chefs make it would be a gold mine to know their tips for staying slim. Hope I’m a winner! 😉
If I were a chef, I’d be obese. There’s no way I could make delicious food all day and NOT eat it all!
I always thought Monica’s character on Friends was a particularly egregious example: No way could a chef be that skinny!
I saw an article about this book and it looked interesting!
I would love to win the book!
For sleeping on planes, I always bring my Snuggie. I may look like a dork, but I feel awesome, and I always go right to sleep! Also, be sure and bring headphones. If it’s really loud you can turn something on, but they’re good to keep the chatty person next to you from trying to start up a conversation!
At least you were woken up by friends. I got woken up by a real jerk in a fight with his girlfriend. No matter how many times I told him, he did not believe me.
So easy to sleep if you have your hunky hubby next to you. You should take him as a pillow. HA!
They need to start a TV show based on this book/idea!
Comment.
Wow, I’m so not clever.
I would like to read that book. I may be more addicted to food reality TV shows than I am to blogging.
Breakfast suggestion: Vans Waffles (with almond butter or real maple syrup!). They are awesome.
Great giveaway! I heard a lot about the book.
Great giveaway! And a great question to answer- if I cooked for a living, it would be so difficult to stay slim!
Ambien and a glass of wine. Worked all the way to London.
The Kidless Kronicles
Yay for Win it Wednesday! 🙂 Book looks interesting, would love to win and read. I take a LOT of tastes when I cook…
That book sounds great! I love Cat Cora she is so creative!
I live on my own planet (I have totally made these jokes before on your contests, I need to come up with some new ones. I just love how you write “residents of planet earth only”) but would still love to win the book!
Melatonin works well for me and noise cancelling headphones (or even just my regular ipod headphones stuck in my ears with no music on). And of course comfy clothes and ideally a pillow from home!
I’m the same way when I cook…LOTS of bites! Would love to know they’re secrets 🙂
Hehehehe… whoops. Sorry for waking you up! We’re just so excited to see you that we clearly all forgot about the time difference! 😀
I would love to win this book. Cooking is my favorite thing to do along with eating healthy. I am always trying to find the balance of these two things. This book would be perfect for me!
i find wearing an eye mask as well as ear plugs work well for me, when i need to get some zzz’s on a flight. or pop a few gravol, that totally does the trick!
There’s nothing worse than an undercooked egg; there’s nothing better than winning a book that you’d love to read. I hope that you give eggs another shot, but I don’t blame you for being done with them.
I love books like that, the kind that are really informative but share a bit about the writer too. If I have to sleep on a plane I don’t force myself to sleep. I read and watch things until I get super sleepy and then I seem to sleep pretty well! Telling myself I have to sleep just makes me more awake!
That just made me sick to my stomach. Undercooked eggs, BLAH!!!!! When I was a kid I called the runny undercooked part bugers. ICK!!!!
I hope you find an alternative to pull you through.
Dying to know how chefs stay slim!!
Good luck on your red eye! I wish I could give you tips. Maybe a glass of wine and/or tylenol pm.
Totally wonder how chefs manage to do it. The more time I spend in the kitchen = the more bad news my scale has to tell me… :/
a whole book of stay slim lessons? probably very helpful to me!
So sorry about your egg experience!!
I fly a lot and HATE trying to sleep on planes. The thing that works best for me is putting my earbuds in, drowning out the loud people around me, and thinking of home. Tends to work at least somewhat.
I use Benedryl to sleep on flights. It’s not for everyone, but it works for me.
What a cool thing to win!
Would love to read that book! Looks like it would have some good tips
That book looks like a fun read! Have fun on your trip!
I’ve heard some buzz about that book; looks good!
I like the (mild) sleep aid idea with a glass of wine (white). That would do me in…and a window seat is practically required for sleeping on the plane. Good luck, Monica! Run fast and be well. 🙂
Slimy eggs suck…unlike this book, I’m sure!
I thumbed through that book at Barnes and Noble over the weekend, and am wishing now I would have bought it! I’m a foodie at heart and love all of those chefs!
yesterday i made poppyseed muffins for the first time and discovered the batter tastes better than the finished product….oops. this book sounds intriguing. as for sleeping on the flight, the last flight i took was from europe back to the states and i popped a few benadryl which did the trick…..probably not the best idea for a flight to boston though!
I wanna win! I am always licking my fingers after baking or trying things as i cook :/
I am really bad at tasting while I cook too!
Also, I was on a roll with eggs for a while this spring too, but I think I am over them for a while. Now its on to WAFFLES!!! How long will this streak last?
I would like that book!
want that book please!
Read about this book in my Food Network magazine. Would love to win a copy! With 5 kids, it seems I am always snacking all day long!
Good luck at Reach the Beach!
Oooh ooh, I’m from planet earth! I qualify. Annd I’d I love to read the book.
Have fun at the Reach the Beach, you ladies will kick some serious booty.
I would love that book!!
Piece of Advice: If you do take a sleeping pill (or half of one), wait until you are sure your plane is taking off. Long story short…Someone I knew took a sleeping pill one hour before takeoff..Guess What?? Plane got delayed 4 hours. Wasn’t a pretty sight!!
This book sounds fabulous.!I myself eat and entire 3 meals worth of snacks while i prepare my actual meal:( booo! 🙂
Count me in for an entry for the book. Sounds like an interesting read. Safe travels to the East coast!
I love all those chefs (I’m a big time Food Network / Top Chef junkie) and would LOVE to read that book!
Sounds like a fun book!
i’ve love to read that book! also just out of curiosity, what kind of phone is that?
That book sounds awesome! I could use some tips!
The book sounds great!! Good luck with Reach the Beach. We have some beautiful weather in these parts so you should be in luck. It’s pouring today but it should clear and be nice for the race!!
For long flights, I download a relaxing playlist on my mp3 payer, snag a window seat, and roll up my sweatshirt against the side of the plane. Out like a light 🙂 Good luck!
The book sounds very informative!
Regarding sleeping on the plane: i find that a sleeping pill (unisom or even a tylenol pm) with a light cocktail (nothing hangover worthy!) and some water about a half hour before boarding works well. It gives everything time to make you truly sleepy, plus you have time to use the bathroom before you board. Also I always always always wear earplugs. It wont necessarily shield you from the screaming baby behind you but it will help with a lot of the annoying plane noises.
Have a good flight!!
A glass of wine and a really boring magazine.
This book looks really great- it needs to be reviewed on my blog!
I hate it when I get texts super early. It’s impossible for me to ignore them. I HAVE to know what’s going on.
I would love a chance to read that book!
That sounds like a good read 🙂
I have a very hard time sleeping on flights unless the person in front of me leaves there arm rests down and I can sort of prop my legs up, then I’m out like a light! I’m a strange sleeper.
Yes please!
I’d love to read that book! I have a major chef crush on Marcus Samuelsson. He’s awesome.
I would love to read that book! 🙂 Interested in the “how to eat out.”
That book sounds awesome. I could use some of those lessons.
