Hello! This morning I hit the sidewalk for a 10 mile run. It is surprisingly cold here!! I’m outside Sarasota on the Gulf side of Florida and it’s usually warmer than home (in SoCal). But today I was super freezing for the first mile and a half. And yeah, I realize cold for me is not cold for everyone. I can’t handle ‘real’ cold!

Luckily, as long as I’m running I warm up fast. It was a really good run and I listened to the In the Dark podcast which made the miles fly by.

A friend of the family brought over two boxes of pastries from the Gasparilla Inn Bakery. I tried the Morning Glory Muffin plus this amazing pecan tart.


Sunday I did some deadlifts and squats with a weight per CJ’s instruction. Since I’m away from home and don’t have a gym membership right now I used this 40 pound weight that was in the garage. Work with what you got!

Bear stood by to keep me company. He is funny because he barks at me like he doesn’t know who I am at least once a day! It’s not just because of his shaggy bangs that he barks, he does that after they’ve cut them too. He might not be super bright, but he’s cute.

Last night we visited Ben’s sister and fam. She got a fancy dehydrator last Christmas and is an expert at dehydrating everything from herbs to fruit now.
I saw this on the counter and wasn’t sure what it was…

Turns out it is dried star fruit! It was really good and I kept snacking on it the whole time. It’s so pretty too!
I’ve seen star fruit in the grocery store and several side-of-the-road stands here in Florida, but only once in SoCal. I think that’s for the best because I would become obsessed with it.

I got in two miles post-research before school. I’m so glad I prioritized a short run! I’ve been so focused on grad school that if I only have a short time, I’d been staying in and researching, instead of getting out there. Thanks for doing POTM! I’m glad I have a run to report 🙂

So today is day 175 of my running streak! I ran 7 miles today and did a light cheat, bi’s and tri’s workout. (Dried starfruit sounds amazing! Dried fruit is so my weakness.)

I got 19,000 steps in today! Ran three fast miles this morning and did my usual lunchtime walk!

I’m visiting FL this week too and seriously I want it to be warm. I did 2 miles today. First run since the half marathon I did Saturday.

Well now I want to start dehydrating fruit, because that sounds awesome!
I had 6 miles this morning in the freeze, 2mi warmup, 2 miles of 400s with a minute rest, and a 2 mile cool down.

I’m in north St. Petersburg/Clearwater and it’s been pretty chilly in the mornings, but it’s still pretty. Home is Texas and they’re fairly cold at the moment.

Haha I’ve been doing my orange theory and did about 2 miles yesterday and prob will hit 1.5 today at my lunch workout. The cold hurts my ears and throats when I workout #floridaproblems!!
Another 5 miles. Fell pretty hard about 2 miles in but kept going. Ripped my glove though . Guess I will add those to my Christmas list .

I’m coming back from a stress fracture I got while marathon training, so today was the bike and elliptical, but tomorrow I get to run for 10 min ! But more importantly, what is the brand/name of your nail color? 🙂

It’s cold here in So.TX too (Cold for me that is:). I ran 6.2 miles this morning, and it felt great!

For my workout today I did the Slim in 6 DVD and ran 7 miles on the treadmill.
I had a great 12 mile run yesterday! And today I’m keeping it easy with a 5k. I’m desperate to get a dehydrator!! I tried dried watermelon a little while ago and became obsessed with that, too!
