Hey! The last few days have been busy with the race, Pile on the Miles and other fun – I forgot to share my favorite Run, Eat and Repeat blog post from October!

Favorite RUN

Long Beach Marathon, my one true love race. But I kinda look at it like an unhealthy love since I never do great in that race yet I always go back for more!

And even though I posted about it in Nov – I ate them in Oct and the Blue Apron dinners were soooo delicious! I need to recreate that panko chicken soon!

    Oops I forgot to check in. Well on November 6th I did about 20 min cardio (zumba), 10 min standing abs, and then 15-20 minutes working with my agility ladder (jumping back and forth with a variety of moves). Today, November 8th I ran 4 miles at the beach. The only thing is my knee is hurting, so I am unsure when my next run will be.

    Thursday another rest day. On Wednesday I did the legs and abs though. I think it’s ok to not run the week after a race, don’t you? Every time I do a race (even if it was for training) I slack of for about a week. Running tonight though, leaving work early to beat the dark. Looking forward to it.

    Four miles today in the GORGEOUS autumn air. Helped a lady find her lost dog. Only downside was a strong bit of chub rub. I’m thinking the next run may be in dry-fit capri’s instead of my shorts. Sticking to that half marathon goal!

    I can’t remember if I checked in yesterday. That was a 3.2 mile tempo run.

    Today – 2 miles easy – last run b4 the race Saturday! Also – .8 mile dog walk (he is small so we can’t go too far or he just sits down)

    6 miles total for the day. 1 mile this morning at the gym along with some weight training, and then 5 miles this evening in the chilly temps. Plus I bought some sweet new shorts to run in, Made me feel fast and gorgeous, lol 🙂

    I was super motivated tonight to get in a 5 mile treadmill run and some leg strength training after I got measured for a bridesmaid dress today. My friends wedding is one week before my next marathon so that is double motivation to get in the best shape of t life.

    yesterday was a rest day, but I did play at pump it up ( a bounce house) for 2 hours with my kids… 🙂 today was day 3 of week2 from simplysadiejane’s at-home crossfit workouts! then I added on a 2 mile run around the neighborhood.

    today’s a rest day for me. i didn’t check in yesterday, but i did 2 miles in the afternoon for a total of 3.5 miles on the month so far. darn the end of the school quarter…hopefully i’ll be able to pump it up a little more over the next few days.

    Saw my physical therapist today about my dud hamstring, and learned it’s likely due to a weak left hip. Learned a bunch of strengthening exercises which I’ll be doing today… and he even said I can try out short, slow runs. I’ll give it a whirl today!

    I only ran 2 miles this morning instead of the 4 I had planned…was up all night with a sick doggie 🙁

    This is random and not related to your post but when you do strength are there any moves that you think help strengthen the lower quads closest to the knee cap?

      I’ve personally found that deep squats, lunges, and step-ups have all helped me strengthen my lower quads and recover from runner’s knee. 🙂

    Just physical therapy for me today! Well that and I went grocery shopping this morning…I bike there and by the time I load up my bike its quite the workout getting home haha
