Hello! Happy Monday! How was your weekend? I ran the Ventura Marathon and ate a bunch of random food.
After the race I stopped at CVS for a big water and saw all the new Lay’s potato chip weird flavors in the min-bags. So, post-marathon delirium made me buy them.
I took them to my mom’s and we all tried them and voted (not officially just out loud). So, they are all just ‘okay’ at best – none of them were ‘good’. The Bacon Mac and Cheese got 3 votes, Wasabi Ginger got one. The Mango Salsa is too sweet and the Cappuccino is just not supposed to exist. The end.
These were all the mini-bags and we didn’t finish any of them between 4 people. That kinda shows that even the best flavor isn’t good.
Moral of the story: Don’t buy them. Let your Monican waste her money and calories on this crap and now you know.
For dinner we went out for margaritas! This sucker was HUGE – probably why they gave me two straws. Maybe I was supposed to share it?
The salad was massive too. (When you wake up at 4am and run 26.2 miles you are allowed to wear sunglasses for pictures. Miss Manners 2014)
Ben’s birthday cake for dessert! How nice of my mom to buy his favorite pink zebra plates for the occasion.
Post Marathon Recovery
I took an ice bath after the race and feel great today! My knee hurt a little last night, but I’m not sore at all this morning!!
I took a walk and did some stretching and a quick 5 minute ab set.
Random tree branch down.
And now I’m off to catch up on work! See ya in a bit!
What I’m wearing today:
Not really, but I am thinking this… #ootd
Meatless Monday Idea:
Mexican Pizza <- I’m definitely in the mood for pizza today!
Question: What’s for dinner?
I didn’t do any prep yesterday so I need to figure out my meal plan for the week.

I did a 5k after that I had some green tea. I love green tea! Green tea helps me deal with cravings for snack like chips candy bars. I agree with you those are not the best options. Empty calories a whole lot of sugar. My goal is to continue to run I want to burn off my stubborn fat.
try some green tea Usage of green tea can accelerate the metabolism of calories inside the human body. This processing is called as thermogenesis. What green tea does is that it increases the heat inside the body thus, increasing metabolism and resulting to calorie burn-up.
Its proven to Diminishing Appetite. When a persons appetite is controlled, the result will be, not wanting to eat. that will keep you away from the snack. Nutrients that compose green tea signals to the brain and stomach that makes a person lose his appetite thus resulting in lesser food intake.
Plus Energy levels are elevated.Green tea can shoot positive signals to the mind that enables the improvement of positive mental attitude. Because green tea compounds act on almost all systems in a human body, it tends to put the mind in a relaxed and positive state that make the body feel more balanced and in sync.
Its sunday and im sipping tea i had to share the greatness.
Losing Lindy says
we picked up the cheesy garlic bread ones and they are good, but feel like they should go with spaghetti instead of a sandwich
Rob Runs says
I liked the mango salsa ones more than I should have, and I’ve bought the wasabi ginger twice. I’ll take all your leftovers of those! I’m pretty sure if I had any left they’d be for dinner every night.
Sue says
I usually stick to Lay’s Originals and BBQ
Ashley says
I’ve been skeptical from the begining. #sticktowhatyouknowlays
Lauren says
Congrats on your marathon! But I mostly came here to say that the tshirt is ahhhh-mazing. It immediately went on my pinterest board for safe-keeping.
Megan @ Skinny Fitalicious says
I’ve seen those chips and they just look wrong. I’m sure someone will be fired for that.
Becky @ Ok, so here's the plan says
I actually like the wasabi ginger ones – we have tried all but the cappuccino at our house, that just seems wrong. We are on our second bag of wasabi ginger chips.
Runwright says
I saw someone eating the bacon Mac n cheese one it just looked weird.
Ashley @ Saving Money in your Twenties says
haha, I’m glad you did the taste test. I probably would have ended up buying at least one of those just to try them… thanks for saving me some money!
Charlotte says
I tried the cinnamon Lays chips today. It was odd. The flavour was like a cookie, but the texture like a chip. Wasn’t a fan at all.
Courtney @The TriGirl Chronicles says
I need that pizza shirt in my life!
Kathryn @ Chicks Dig Running says
I’m so glad you are saving us all tons of money and regret by letting us know we can leave those on the shelves! I am a sucker for exciting new flavors of junk food (I’m only human), so I’ll be happy to confidently walk past these in the grocery store.
Dinner tonight was a mango chicken salad. We normally do Salad Sundays but laziness and desire to avoid the grocery store led that to be pushed back to Salad Monday. It was super tasty, though, and eating that tonight will make me feel better about the pizza night we have planned for later this week!
Heathers Looking Glass says
Cappuccino sounds SO gross! Bummed the mac and cheese wasn’t even good!
side note: can’t wait until I can have a margarita again.
Leslie @ Life Begins at 30? says
I’m so glad to know all of the flavors are gross! That Mexican Pizza looks super delicious though!!
AdjustedReality says
I had a cappuccino one as well and agree that they just shouldn’t exist. Bleh. The bacon mac and cheese ones sound intriguing though…
Dinner is just soup and a salad, but I made this excellent enchilada pie for lunch, I kinda just want to eat the rest of it (but saving it for another day).
Amanda @Jogging Stroller Mama says
Gross! Who even thought cappuccino flavored chips would be a good idea in the first place!
runeatrepeat says
Exactly!
Jack Sh*t says
I sent in the idea to Lay’s for the cappuccino chips. IT WAS SUPPOSED TO BE A JOKE!
runeatrepeat says
Well, the joke’s on me because I bought them…
Olivia says
What was your time?
runeatrepeat says
For the marathon? It’s in my recap post 3:57 🙂
Linda @ Fit Fed and Happy says
Did those chips taste that horrible? Bacon mac and cheese sounds intruiging, but holy crap! They’re getting chips to taste like pasta? I don’t know whether to excited or grossed out.
runeatrepeat says
They don’t taste horrible like I wanted to spit them out, but they weren’t good – which for the calories they should be!
Natalie @ Never Serious Blog says
Yeah, none of those crazy flavors sound appealing to me, but they might after 26.2 miles! I do get some funky post-race cravings!
Ashley @ A Lady Goes West says
Great job on the run! You earned your margarita and birthday cake. It looks like a carrot cake … what kind was it? Carrot cake is my favorite, mostly because of the cream cheese frosting.
Tonight I’m having veggie pasta with turkey meatballs. A mid-week staple in my house. Have a good one!
runeatrepeat says
Yep! Carrot cake 🙂
Toni says
Thanks for the 411 on the chips… this will solidify my willpower to not give them a second thought. 😀
Kris @ Canadian Girl Runs. says
Cappuccino?? NO… just no.
I don’t plan on wasting my money on those now!
Tracy @ sprinklesandsquats says
Cappuccino potato chips, yikes. I’ve seen sriracha potato chips, and for some reason, I’m still intrigued… perhaps because I put sriracha on everything haha.
I did some food prep this morning, so dinner looks like it may be grilled chicken salad with grilled veggies and bleu cheese! Simple and easy!
Kelly Mitchell says
I wanted to try the mango salsa lays! Thanks for the votes – maybe I won’t buy them… Congrats on the marathon!
morgan says
I LOVE the wasabi ginger chips! The other ones are just blah.
Rachel says
Wasabi Ginger are SO GOOD. They’re like a crunchy sushi flavor delivery system.
Sandy Smith says
Thank you…I’ve been meaning to do that field work for a while, and now I don’t have to! Sun Chips it is. 🙂
runeatrepeat says
You’re welcome, I’m here to serve…
