Hello from my fam’s. I’m still hanging out with my little brother today. My parents are out of town for the night so I stayed here last night.
This morning I was up bright and early to run around my old neighborhood. I had a great run!
Since we ate so many donuts yesterday I tried to keep today a little bit healthier – a little tiny bit There is still so many holiday treats around! It’s killing me.
I did make a salad at some point…
And ate the one ripe avocado. Our trees are the best! But it’s taking a while for this latest haul to ripen – I am ready to eat them all.
Afternoon snackage involved a delicious fruit salad with apples, pineapple, nuts and yogurt.
Oh, and my fam’s random cat that someone found by the freeway when it was a kitten or something… He is so skittish, but I’m winning him over.
My lil brother and I took the dogs for a walk in the afternoon.
And now I’m relaxing contemplating dinner and life… in that order.
See you later!
Question: What was (or will be) for dinner?

Interesting to see what folks have on NYE. While out yesterday I noticed all the food chain restaurants were jammed packed at 5pm. I wondered what that was all about!!! I’ve traditionally had pizza and/or snacks on NYE!! Our tradition is pork and kraut today …I’m currently trying vegan so I struggled whether or not to make this, but in the end decided to do it for my kids!!!

I also recently went for an “Old Stomping Grounds” run at my mom’s house on Christmas Day with one of my brothers. It was nostalgia-inducing and wonderful!
I love avocados and wish that my NYE dinner could have included one, but, alas, I was fresh out. I am growing several avocado trees in my front-yard garden and I cannot wait until they start producing.
I love your blog and appreciate the pro-recovery angle your posts support. I have recently started my own blog and have a question regarding blog content and citing your sources for images, memes, etc. that are not your own. How/where do you give credit for these sources on your blog?
Thanks in advance!

If I find the image on a site that I know it is ‘their’ image I credit it right under the image.

We always have shrimp cocktails…big ones…on NYE. But I am adding roasted cabbage steaks and mashed potatoes to my dinner. Need veggies! 🙂

Speaking of Sriracha…Trader Joe’s has a new item… Bacon Jerky that is covered with Sriracha. I tried it and it is pretty good. Definitely something that you can have just a bit of and feel satisfied.
Erin @ Erin's Inside Job says
Dinner is probably left over homemade stir fry from yesterday slathered in Sriracha. I know you can appreciate. Enjoy the beautiful weather; it’s 10 degrees here in Chicago and feels like -8. Lame.

I had albondigas for dinner. It was perfect for this rainy weather in SD. I can’t wait for the new year’s eve feast at my grandmother’s 🙂

We are having a New Year’s Eve feast! Cypriot grain salad, garden salad, with barbecued gourmet sausages, lamb steaks, pork belly rashers in Korean sauce, followed by home made strawberry cheesecake and fruit salad. And to try to stay awake until midnight, we will also have wine and cheese platters, and maybe some yummy chocolate. Bring it on!

Nice blog. Interesting!
Becky @ Ok, so here's the plan says
Dinner was meatloaf with butternut squash and green beans, courtesy of the boyfriend. I love that he cooks! 🙂
Also: I’m completely jealous of your avocados. The ones we get in NY are terrible, especially since I’m originally from California.
Sue says
Good question! It’s New Year eve here…and I’ve absolutely no plans yet; probably hook up with some friends later.
