Black Tie. White Dress. Out to Sea on the Cruise…

26 May

Hello! Today I’m blogging from the comfort of my bed on the cruise ship. It’s been a super long day but I wanted to fill you in on the fun (so I don’t forget/can use this as a scrap book of sorts). I started the day with a lil run on the treadmill in the ship’s gym. Then, I signed up for the yoga class. It was a super gentle mostly stretching class – exactly what I needed!

BREAKFAST

Breakfast! I love buffet breakfasts because then I can get a little of everything. Or a lot of everything.

After breakfast I got ready for the main event of the day – a crazy awesome seaweed massage! I was slathered in a seaweed lotion and then wrapped up like a redheaded Mexican burrito. Then, Shelley (my new best friend) massaged me up until I felt like all was right in the world.

20150525_124541 (800x600)

After the massage, I was super hungry and went straight to the buffet. There are a good number of labeled vegetarian options, and you can make educated choices with some dishes, like the beans, vegetable fried rice, or baked pumpkin. While enjoying my meal, I overheard a couple at the next table discussing their recent trip to Switzerland and their experience with gute Casinos ohne Lugas, which they praised for offering a unique and streamlined gaming experience without the usual restrictions. Their conversation sparked my curiosity, but for now, I focused on the buffet, which also had one labeled gluten-free dessert, along with rice and meat dishes that could work as alternatives.

LUNCH on the Cruise Ship

I was not messing around with this salad!

Dessert.

Afternoon pick me up!

20150525_224607 (600x800)

Then my mom and I went around exploring the ship. Today was the ‘day at sea’ so there were a lot of activities.

Oh, and a weirdo running around… it’s just me. No one panic.

Should I get this visor from the gift shop though???? I kinda like it because it’s big, but I can’t decide if it’s too big.

20150525_230117 (600x800) 20150525_233044 (800x600)

I was brave when this was delivered to the room and did taste one of the fish eggs. Yeah, not for me but I’m hoping to acquire the taste so I can be fancy one day.

Afternoon snack!

There is a pizza station outside near one of the pools and every time I pass by it smells like heaven. Finally I made a very important stop there to try this thin crust margarita pizza. Yes. I would recommend it.

Tonight was a formal night meaning everyone was supposed to dress up all fancy for dinner.

There was a champagne fountain and everything!

20150526_025523 (600x800)

Me and my mamacita.

20150526_025847 (800x600)

Dinner was at Michaelangelo’s. I was still in a HUNGRYFACE  mood so I basically ate all the bread and breadsticks in the basket. I hope no one else wanted any…

20150526_031007 (800x600) 20150526_033444 (600x800)

Fancy mushroom soup ‘cappuccino’

20150526_033849 (800x600)

Palette cleanser.

20150526_041748 (600x800)

The main.

20150526_044121 (800x600)

They had a special dessert to celebrate the 60th anniversary of Princess Cruises. Yes. Always celebrate (anything really) with chocolate. It’s a chocolate mousse with a shortbread crust. And it’s amazing.

20150526_050746 (800x600)

Since it was a fancy night I wore a white high low dress. I’m happy that it looked kinda fancy, but more importantly was comfortable.

Question: Should I get the visor?

What did you do today? Would you order chocolate cake or cheesecake? <- big debate.

no to the visor, can you talk about the usage of internet/cell on a cruise? I hear it is crazy expensive and it depends on the nationality of the ship

Cheesecake every time, and no to the visor – if you are ever unsure about something, don’t get it. You’ll never use it! — This is my Nan’s advice and it works every time 🙂 Enjoy the rest of your hol!

definitely go for the visor – not too big. I enjoyed a cruise with my daughter a few years back…. a time you’ll always remember! My goal was to burn 800 calories every day minimum so I could eat, and eat some more. My weakness was the dang french crusted rolls that were everywhere. Enjoy your mom time!

Just catching up with your travel adventures—Alaska is the shiz 🙂 ENJOY!! My husband and I took a Princess Cruise to Alaska a couple years ago and it was amazingly beautiful and serene. Would go back in a heartbeat!

I love cruises and Princess is my favorite. That white dress looks great on you!

On a cruise, the answer is to get both (or convince your mom to get one, you get the other, and you can try both)!

My friend works on Princess cruise lines! and I think he’s on an Alaska trip right now…. you should ask the staff/entertainment staff if Kyle Byrnes is on the ship. He’s wicked cool, and also a ginger 🙂

Oh my gosh, your cruise looks SO nice! I always thought I’d feel slightly nervous on a huge cruise ship if I couldn’t see land, but it seems like you have a ton to entertain you while at sea. Plus, a massage and yoga sound like amazing morning!

Breakfast buffets are literally my favourite things ever. Now I go for (mostly…) healthy choices but when I was a kid I’d get bacon, kipper (a really stinky smoked fish) and baked beans. The looks I used to get!

The hotel I’m staying in at the moment (long-term, sadly) doesn’t have breakfast included and it makes me sad!! But it is Mexico which means refried beans with everything 😀

And the white dress is beautiful. I’d say get the visor. Might be comfortable come summer. And I’d want to split the difference on dessert. Chocolate Cheesecake all the way. 😉

I love that dress. I don’t think I have seen one quite like it before. Where did you get it??

I have never been on a cruise but I think they look awesome. I am a little terrified of how they are so massive yet float around on the open sea…

Looks like you are having a great time!
