Brooks Sports Bra Review

Fitness Fashion· Gear

8 Mar

It’s Fitness Fashion Friday and I have to formally apologize to all the guys in the room, I have another sports bra review today. Sorry boys. Hopefully a company will send me some tighty whities soon and I’ll have something for you. Women’s Epiphany Bra II

As part of my relationship with Brooks they gave me four sports bras to choose from this month. I chose the Women’s Epiphany Bra II because I liked the ventilated panel on the chest and back.

Oh, and because it comes in pink. I am a girl. image

This sports bra is a pull over, but holds ya in like one of the clasp back closures. It had good compression while still allowing you to breathe. I dig it.

I wore it under my new RER tank for RnR NOLA and it did the job. The tank gets a little see-through when I sweat and that made me self conscious, but having a cute sports bra under made it better.post rnr New Orleans marathon

I know this is the third sports bra I’m reviewing but this is a very important part of women’s bodies gear so thanks for being patient. See? Even Vegas is enduring another sports bra post and he’s a boy.

epiphany sports bra review

I don’t have big boobs so right now I can wear this shirt Chobani sent me (along with delicious yogurt!)… 100% Real.100% real chobani

But one day, if I save up my pennies I’m going buy some bigger boobs sports bras ifyaknowwhatImean Winking smile  Don’t judge, I live in the OC.

Get your Run Eat Repeat tank or other random gear in my spreadshirt shop! I added buttons and guys shirts too. runeatrepeat tank tee

Question: Do you match your chonies or bras to your clothes?

    Hi Monica,
I just found your blog (saw you on skinnyrunner 😉 ) and I really like it!
All I wanted to say: Niiiiice abs! You make me quite jealous!
Are you still 145 lbs, as you said on your weight loss page? Because I’m your height, but a lot lighter and no abs anywhere close 😀
You must have lots of muscles 😉 So I guess, I definetly need to run more, because it seems as if crunches wont help!

Hello Kate! Thanks for coming over 🙂

I’m actually more than 145 right now – I’m just a master as ‘sucking it in’. Ha!

Big boobs is really can be a problem in running. And not every bra will help you with that.

Nah, I don’t usually match my running gear, wish I had enough extra cash that I could!

I’ve got 2 Brooks sports bras that I got mid-Summer last year that are my favorites. I’m small chested so they’re a good fit for me, I don’t think big boobs would fare as well.

Yay for little, but REAL boobies! Be thankful! I think the last thing I would want was those things jumping around on a run!

Ok, seriously you look amazing. You have to give us a hint as to what you are doing to lose weight? Is it strictly from these thyroid supplements you are taking or are you doing something different with your diet? lol You have always looked amazing, but I think you found the secret for what works for you! Congrats!!

I always try to match my sports bras to the rest of my outfit. I usually pick my running shoes based on the outfit, too!

I like the look of it, but doesn’t look like it would work for me (not as small as you). If you do ever decide to get a “bigger sports bra” beware that its certainly not easy to deal with while exercising, especially running.

I’m a big Brooks fan but I haven’t tried their sports bra. I’ve grown an attachment with Moving Comfort (the best I’ve tried so far) and never looked for something else. But this made me want to check out Brooks Sports bras. I like the mesh detail. 🙂
Same here, I get too conscious when my top starts to get see through but with cute sports bra like that, I will not mind. :))

I wish I matched. Like ever. I am the worst with my running gear, I just grab and go. I loved your outfit for RnR!
The sports bra is super cute too. I always by the cheap ones at Target. Gasp!
But if you really got nothing to protect why spend the money, right? I think I need to save my pennies too for an upgrade. 😉

Do you fuel for training runs/long runs the same way as you mentioned for races of “Drink every 10 minutes, take electrolytes every 30 and eat every 45. This is the minimum nutrition required. You should consume at least 150 calories an hour after the first hour.”

Yes, I’m not as diligent on training runs versus races but I try.

Love the look of this one! I’ll have to try it out. But let me say, coming from a (fellow ginger) girl with a big sports bra, you look amazing the way you are! And let me tell ya, though I’m proud of my girls on almost every other occassion, when I run we are not breast friends. I’m so jealous of women that can run comfortably without having to strap them down. I always believe someone should do what makes them happy, but big bra or not, you look great! 🙂

Cute sports bra! I won’t judge you, unless you get DD’s. It annoys me when women go that big. The only attention they get is negative. I had mine done over 10 years ago and people are shocked when I tell them they are “paid for”, because they are natural looking.

I LOVE the 100% real tshirt! I would definitely wear that too… as a member of the itty bitty club myself I most of the time don’t fret about sports bras.

I consider myself fairly lucky and never wish for bigger ladies 🙂

Cute bra. I will be buying some new larger bras as of a month ago and will give this one a chance. Unlike the other girls here I would tell you to keep saving your pennies. My new bras won’t be too much bigger than my old ones but my running tanks will sure fit better…if you catch my drift. Do what makes you happy & you’ll be beautiful 🙂

I think you should buy whatever makes you happy! I don’t mind being a member of the IBTC, but some close just look better when you have a little more going on. Thank god for VS.

Go for a run with 2 water balloons before you buy a bigger sports bra…. those of us who are a little top-heavy can attest how much of a PITA it is. Especially if your band measurement is smaller, with D cups. I have yet to find a company that makes a sports bra perfect for 30D. The one sports bra that fits almost right leaves bruises (yes, BRUISES) on my collarbone if I run further than 3 miles.
Thanks, Mom. I can handle being short like you, but giving me bigger than necessary boobs is just not fun when I run. Or walk briskly. Or teach Zumba. Or try to sleep on my stomach. Or shop for any clothes.
Whatever you do, think it through!

girl, I got my boobs done 2 years ago. it’s overrated. Don’t do it. Natural, whatever the size, is better. as is not conforming to the fake land of OC. you are a beautiful girl. You have a man that thinks you’re perfect the way you are. Just my opinion. I think it’s for the breast 🙂

I would totally save up my money for bigger…sports bras too! Since, I’ve lost weight, my mom told me the other day – you have no boobs. Thanks, Mom. Wearing a sports bra pretty much flattens you anyway.

    I don’t match. In a perfect world I would, but I don’t 🙂

Check out Moving Comfort sports bras if you haven’t already tried them! Some styles come in specific cup sizes (others in at least two sorta cup sizes – A/B and C/D), and hook in the back so it’s tight when on, but not impossible to get on. I’m also a D, and use their Fiona bras for running, and they work great.

I would say it’s a cross between a heavy liner and tiny bit of padding so there are no nips.
