Friday Favorites Champagne Diet

Fun· What Runners Eat

Hello! Happy Friday! How did the first week of 2015 treat you?

Since yesterday was a rest day I took a nice walk and caught a beautiful pink sunset. Love love love.

friday favorites walk (800x600)

This morning I’m off and running. My favorite.

My other favorites are below – here’s a list of the things that made my week:

Food Favorites!

1. Remember when I got Sloppy McSlopperson on Christmas Eve off of champagne?

No? You don’t remember?!?! Good. That was embarrassing.

But the good news is I’m back on the bubbly and loving life!

2. In healthier news, I am obsessed with Trader Joe’s Sugar Plum Tomatoes. I like them super small (like M&Ms remember). This week the containers seemed to have bigger ones so I switched it up a bit with the mixed medley.

3. All the salads and Sriracha and seasonings I can find.

4. Wait. We interrupt this Food Favorites programming for an important message…

cat caught red handed (800x600) (800x600)

I spotted this Think Thin Pumpkin Spice protein bar in the clearance section of the store…

And it’s not good. So, that’s why it was in the sale section and I’m just letting ya know.

5. My Protein Brownies. I was craving something sweet the other day and didn’t have anything in my house so I baked up a batch of my protein brownies.

This batch came out a lot less moist than usual, but that’s probably because I used a new protein powder. I use whey protein 89% of the time for baking.

Question: What was your favorite food this week?

I have been making my 7 yr old help cook, we made goulash, meatloaf, and homemade turkey noodle soup this week. He ended up eating over half of the goulash and 2/3 of the meatloaf. He is pretty proud of his cooking skills.

He wasn’t crazy about the soup. In all honesty it needed salt, but I am trying to lessen salt in my diet.

Ugh, I could use some champagne right now! Perfect diet. And I definitely need to start baking with protein powder I’ve seen so many awesome-looking recipes…have you ever used vega protein powder? I have that now but I used Jay Robb whey for a while. I feel an experiment coming on..

Im also disappointed about that think thin bar. I freaked out when I saw it at Expo East and they gave me some samples, but when I ate it I was sad inside.

My favorite food this week was prob my Sweetgreen salad that I was able to have again while visiting VA. They sadly don’t have them in Chicago, so I have to get my fix while I am here!

Felt the same way about that Think Thin bar, there was just something off about the taste. Not a fan.

My favorite food for the last month has been hummus with Sriracha on top. I dip everything in it. I blame you for getting me hooked on that!

So i bought a whole box of dark chocolate peppermint Think Thin bars on a whim. I didn’t think you could really get a bad flavor of Think Thin bars… I was wrong, Very wrong. I’m thinking maybe their “seasonal flavors” should be avoided. I have a whole box of these things, and can’t GIVE them away!

The pictures you post of your cat make me feel slightly more okay about all the pictures I post of my 2 cats (multiple cats = cat lady). So thank you for that! And for the real talk about those thinkthin bars. Good to know. Happy Friday!

Who would guess that a pumpkin spice bar was not tasty? So sad. My favorite food this week was some delicious Italian food I had out to dinner last night with friends. Happy Friday!

My favorite food was a quinoa, red onion, tomato, chickpea salad…. It was delicious and probably ate way to much of it. Said it makes 4 servings…. Only got about 1 1/2 servings out of it! Hahah Oops.

And coffee! Coffee is always my favorite!

Best thing I made all week was chicken meatballs in the slow cooker with green thai curry paste, basil, and coconut milk. Served over rice and broccoli. Perfect for these ridiculously cold days.

Yes, I go to both regularly. They are super different. TJ’s has a lot of their own versions of foods and have great prices on nuts, nut butters and other $$ things. WF is like a healthier version of a regular grocery store. The WF near me in Orange County is amazing – with a juice bar, Mexican food, Sushi made right there, BBQ and a massive hot bar.

My favorite food this week was a cobb salad I made myself, (and altered to my taste) with super large amounts of goat cheese and it was delish! May even make it again today.

Love the champagne diet!! Seriously, it’s my favorite drink, especially a super high quality one (literally, no headache ever off Moet). Nothing makes me smile like a glass of bubbles 😛
