Well. I went to sleep at 9pm last night. I was exhausted from my antics in Palm Springs. Whew. I really need to stop doing that whole Drink, Run, Repeat thing.

sleepy time in the casino (800x450)

whatever im not drunk

But you know I wasn’t too tired to get Yogurtland. That is some quality photography right there…

yogurtland at the end of the day (376x502)

This morning I just took a little walk to start the day. Then, it was breakfast time. breakfast egg burrito (727x545)

I feel like I’m so behind on the 20 things I wanted to tell you. But I forgot them all.

Except one.

I finally tried the NEW Quest bar – Cookies N’ Cream Saturday!

quest bar protein cookies n cream (600x800)

The bars are available online and at GNC.

i want it now[3]

I picked one up while shopping at the mall and busted it open right away. It’s good. I love that there are crunchy cookie pieces in it (it’s still gluten free somehow that I don’t want to know). It’s not the best flavor though, my #1 is still the chocolate chip.

I love the chocolate chip, but actually have heard mixed reviews from friends who have tried the bars. I think I talked them up too much?

Half Marathon, 10 and 5k Discount!

RaceyoutoMarch (1)

The Pediatric Cancer Foundation has a half marathon that I did year before last. The date and location changed this year and race organizers want me to pass on the information and a DISCOUNT for you!!

The PCRF Reaching for the Cure Run and Ride is Sunday March 30th in Irvine, CA. There is a 5k, 10k or half marathon.

There is also a 15 mile, 35 mile and 50 mile bike tour!

The foundation is offering 10% off any adult race with code: RUN4AREASON

If you are not local, but would like to make a donation to The Pediatric Cancer Foundation you can give any amount on that page.

In other race news, the Phoenix Marathon/Half Marathon is sold out. But the 10k is still open and race organizers have extended the discount for that. So if you still want to sign up use code runeat10

Question: 5k, 10, or half marathon?

The cookies and cream quest is totally one of my favorites now! Otherwise my top go-to picks are the chocolate peanut butter, double chocolate chunk, and cinnamon roll. Cookies and cream definitely hits the oreo craving though!

I recently PRed my half marathon time by over 15 minutes!! I’d like to think my quest bar addiction has something to do with that 🙂

I’m weird. 10ks are my all time favorite but I feel like a half marathon is more worth paying for and traveling for so I tend to do 4 or 5 halfs a year and only one 10k race. The 10k I run every year is the first race I ever ran so I like to run it every year and it makes me so happy 🙂

Hmmm i’d probably say 10k! It’s a big time commitment to train for a half… and a 5k is just too short! 10k is juuuuust right 🙂

I would go for the half for sure! They are a different beast than the 5k and 10k. I love the half distance.

Half over here… I’m on a half a month for a year challenge. 6 for 6 so far (started in september). I love the 5ks when they are low key. Those are the best to get your PR’s. 10k’s are probably right up there with the 5k’s because it tests your mind to see if you can hold that lower than sprint pace for the entire duration. Ultimately I like the half because it involves strategy…for me anyway and always pits my mind against my body. My body usually wins =).

I love the 5k and 10k for a nice change of pace as well.

I tried two quest bars last week for the first time, cookie dough was pretty yummy but I was not a fan of the brownie chip or something like that. Also I pick 10k.

I have wanted to try Quest bars for a while now, heard good things about them. Our grocery doesn’t carry them. I’m too lazy/cheap to order them online because I’d have to order like 18 at a time. I’ll have to find a GNC I guess!

Half mostly with an occasional 10k thrown into the mix!

The PCRF was my very first half ever; 2012! I almost ran it again this year, but that Chesebro half is the weekend prior and I couldn’t do both. It’s such a fun race (PCRF) and such a worthy cause. I’ll put it on the race calendar for next year.

    Happy week, Monica!
