Thanksgiving ’09

27 Nov

I started the day with a 6 miler. My legs are tired from running four days in a row, but I wanted to get in some good mileage before all the eats!

Breakfast was oat bran. I needed something warm after a cold run!IMG_2732

I made the whole Thanksgiving spread with the help of my mom. This was our first time ever doing it like this. Normally we have T-day with my whole Mexican fam and everyone brings their specialty. I usually make the cornbread casserole and help my mom with the mashed potatoes. But this year I made turkey, ham, mashed potatoes, sweet potato casserole, cornbread casserole, and green beans! We were super busy all morning!

Here is my plate – it’s packed!!! I had some of everything to make sure it tasted good. Well, it did 🙂IMG_2733

Do you like our bikes in the background? We are so fancy in our little apartment….IMG_2739

We also enjoyed some Rotta Wine with the meal. I feel like such a rookie drinking white wine all the time, but I love it!IMG_2743

After eating around 3pm my mom and I took a long walk. It was perfect to let our food settle and make room for seconds.IMG_2746IMG_2747

When we got back I had a little lot more…IMG_2748

And dessert while watching movies with the family. x2 including bites…IMG_2751

I overdid it with bites while cooking and with leftovers 🙁 And that made me overly full. Boo. I am not going to dwell on it and just brush my teeth for tonight. Tomorrow is a new day (and thankfully one that doesn’t revolve around food).

I hope you all had a great day 🙂 I have so much to be thankful for, this has been the most amazing and crazy year… Thank you God.

Aw, this is quite a good blog post. In thought I’d really like to put in writing in this way furthermore – taking time as well as true work to make a very good article… but what can I say… I procrastinate much and practically never seem to get something accomplished.
