You Know How You Know I Was Sick?

My Life

FacebookTweetPin
21 Feb

Hello. I  was so sick this weekend. It was crazy. I don’t get sick. Why did I get sick?? It was the worst. The only shots I was doing was shots of Mucinex and OJ (because I didn’t want to drink out of the carton for once). Ugh. I felt bad though.

Ben is in town and brought me Pho for dinner Friday night.

And Vegas cuddled up with me to make me feel better/steal my warmth.

Saturday we celebrated my mom’s birthday. I was supposed to make all this fancy food and cake and la-di-da. I wore a surgical mask to make the cake. And changed the menu to be super easy peasy (read: Costco turkey rolls and pizza). Luckily I looked like ‘something the cat dragged in’ as she put it so my mom understood the tragic b-day food.

My SIL made a 24 layer dip (or something like that I didn’t count the layers).

And I got to hang out with my favorite tiny person. But I couldn’t attack her with kisses like I love to do!

It was a good day for everyone else but I felt like I was dying.

Question:  You know how you know I was sick?

Answer: I didn’t have any cake.

I woke up today feeling so much better! I’m not 100%, but like 75% and that’s still pretty awesome so I’ll take it!

Since B-diddy is in town we had lunch with some of his college friends that in town. Dim Sum, because it’s awesome and they’re Chinese American so they order in Mandarin and get us all the best stuff.

Then, we hung out by the pool and watched the kiddos swim. It was the best.

Now I’ve gotta throw Vegas out of bed so I can wash the sheets I sweated on last night. How nice, huh.

Question: I’m at 75% right now – how are you feeling health wise?

I’m feeling about 50%…I usually don’t get any weird bugs that others do. LuckY? I doubt it because I never win at Bingo or the Lottery.

Yesterday I felt like I had a wadded up cotton ball in my throat, eyes are red and watery, nose a running, slight cough, and hurts to swallow. I have never had strep throat so I don’t even know if those are signs for that but I haven’t been checked.

I believe to wait anything out for 48 hours before rushing to get checked. I took NyQuil last night and slept great but woke up to the same cotton ball in my throat…I am off to work and hoping for a sick day tomorrow….ha! Maybe?!

I’m about 90% right now. I pretty much always almost have a cold because I work with kids. I know when I’m sick when I’m not hungry. It’s super weird if I don’t want something to snack on.

Glad you’re feeling better – that food looks awesome!

I’m at about 85-90. Got an upper respiratory infection at the beginning of February. Hard to believe I still have a cough 3 weeks later! I needed antibiotics and was supposed to get a chest X-ray to see if I had pneumonia.
Anyhow I am well enough to run again so that is all that matters. 🙂 glad u are on the mend too!
