Hey! I’ve been so busy I just realized there was a lot of fun stuff I wanted to share but kinda forgot. Like, the fact that I kinda sorta ran a marathon with Brad Pitt. Maybe.
Since this weekend was PB & jam packed with the race expo and 3 parties – oh, and running 26.2 miles, I didn’t tell you about the Santa Clarita Marathon & Half Marathon race expo!
Santa Clarita Marathon Half Marathon Expo
It was a small expo, but awesome for 3 reasons…
1. The bib pick up was easy peasy in and out. And the nice lady who gave me my bib carefully explained to me how to put the timing chip on my shoe which I thought was the cutest thing ever. And she was very serious about telling me “Good luck!!!”. I love it.
2. There was a wall to sign at the expo…
and apparently Brad Pitt was there!!! I think he just ran the half marathon though because I didn’t see him on the full course.
I was excited but I’m more of a Matt Damon girl.
3. The BJ’s Brewry booth was giving away FREE PIZZA!!!!!!!!!!!

I know I am a day late but wanted to post to be accountable… I ran about 1.75 miles today, my GPS was not working and only tracked me for .8 which I know was wrong. I am at a total of 4/50 miles! Woohoo… almost there! 😉

After work I ran 5 miles last night and it was pret-ty chilly and a bit of a rough run. Averaged a 9:04 pace which isn’t my best. This morning I woke up at 5:30 and did my same route again, and shaved a solid 14 seconds off my average pace! Which was hard to believe because I felt like poo. I love running in the morning, even though it can be the hardest thing in the world to get out of bed. Now I can enjoy the rest of the day and go eat my weight in sushi and see Broad City Live in the evening without feeling too guilty.
