Kayaking in Dana Point

Hello and Happy Sunday!

This morning I woke up around 6 and forced myself to go back to sleep until 7. When I finally rolled out of bed Ben was still asleep so I snuck out for a Sunday morning walk. Three miles with my thoughts Smileimage

Sometimes I wait for Ben to walk with me, but he sprained his ankle about 2 weeks ago and it’s just getting back to normal. So we decided to get some other exercise after breakfast.

I cooked up pumpkin pancakes. Sundays are the best day for pancakes, aren’t they?IMG_7995 (800x533)

And yesterday when I was at WF I spotted Barney Butter on sale! It’s been a long time since I’ve had this since I converted to TJ’s AB. But since the recall I had to make a plan BB.barney butter

For some reason I remember the first time I tried Barney Butter 4 years ago! (Normally, I have the worst memory.) It was such a big deal in the ‘blog world’ at the time. I spent $9 on a jar so I could see what all the hype was about. It’s so funny to look back on my tragic blogging and old memories Smile Ben and I were just boyfriend/girlfriend and we were at his apartment in Irvine. Good times. <3

After breakfast we went to Dana Point to go kayaking. Ben’s been wanting to go for a while and it’s never worked out until today.dana point kayaking

We kayaked around the harbor and enjoyed the gorgeous day! This is paradise. dana point harborkayak time

The only teeny tiny upset was that I scraped off a chunk of my skin half way through the adventure. It stung the rest of the time, but I was having so much fun I didn’t mind.thumb skin

From there we grabbed a few things from home and headed to visit my Grams. Ben drove through Taco Bell and we tried the new cantina burrito. It’s better than the usual Taco Bell stuff, but it’s no Chipotle.taco bell cantina bowl

I ordered some Pintos no cheese to go with my salad.

Fun Random fact: when I was a kid my mom would let us choose 2 items from Taco Bell when we went there. I would get a bean & cheese burrito and pintos & cheese. A lot of the things I used to order were vegetarian so it was easy for me to be veg back in the day. pintos n cheese

And now I’m blogging from my parents house with the dogs and pumpkin Smilelittle pumpkin patch

I am embarrassed about how excited I am for the RHONJ Reunion. I think my big plans for the evening involve take-out for dinner and trash tv.

Sunday Set Up…

Exercise: On my long run yesterday I realized last week was probably one of  my highest mileage weeks ever!

I did 6, 5, 8, 3, 21 = 43

That is ridiculous.

This week’s plan:

  • Monday: easy 6, abs
  • Tuesday: Speed repeats
  • Wednesday: strength, yoga
  • Thursday: 4, abs
  • Friday: easy 3,
  • Saturday: Rest
  • Sunday: LR

Eats: I’m at my mom’s and am not super sure what I have at home. Tomorrow we’ll have fish and sweet potatoes for dinner. That’s all I know.

Question: When was the last time you went to the beach or kayaking or boating of some sort??

Congratulations on your long run and high mileage week! That is a huge accomplishment! I can’t wait to get back into marathon training. Right now I’m averaging 20-25 a week.

I can’t even remember the last time I was on the water. I am not a huge fan of the water/sand (I’d rather go hiking any day!). I would love to go white water rafting though. It’s on my bucket list.

About a month ago we took our 8 yr old and her friend to Santa Cruz to the Boardwalk and spent the day playing in the waves and riding the fun rides. Perfect weather and had the best time! We love kayaking and we’ve been saving our money to buy a couple.
