The Gym after a Marathon

9 Oct

Last night I was on a mission to not cook, but a big bag of green beans in the fridge were screaming to be made into green bean fries.

So, I paired them with an Amy’s frozen tamale meal, an egg and garlic cheese bread. image

This morning my quads are still a little sore and a tiny bit in my upper back, but not as bad as I was expecting! I do have two small cuts on my lonjas sides.IMG_8251 (800x600)

This morning I hit the gym for a quick strength session…image

and then had a happy breakfast! IMG_8247 (800x600)

That’d be eggs and pumpkin oat bran topped with Barney Butter and Sunflower Seed Butter. I cannot get enough BB and keep going back for swipes of the jar – this usually doesn’t happen with other nut butters, but this stuff is so good!

I have a walking date with a friend later today, but have to hit work for now. See ya later!

Question: What’s the condiment of the day?

Never tried Barney Butter. When I first heard of it all I could think of was Barney the Dinosaur, and now I can’t shake that image. 😛

Have some chaffing on my lower back/waist from my shorts I wore last week for my strength training (legs! It’s always the legs workout session!)

Are the cuts from chafing? They look painful. I love that you’re such a natalie dee fan too.

What’s your strength training routine? I’m open to some tips from a master sub-4 hour marathoner. 🙂

      Condiment: salsa verde. Mmmmmm.

Do you have any tips on strength training for runners? I would like to stick to machines until I get back to crossfit and would love some simple legs/upper/core circuits.

Is moldy cheese actually a condiment?

YAAAAAAAAAY!! You made me giggle!! 🙂 Condiment of EVERY day is ranch dressing. Why does it have to be so horribly full of calories and fat? Second best condiment ever – salsa.

Ouch. My sports bra gave me one of those under my tots last week. That’s what I got for staying in it all day. 🙂 I love how you’re not at all shy about your ketchup. 🙂

HAHA. That is why I have NEVER bought cashew butter. I fear it may be too good! Like the Sunflower Butter.

I’m going to try Justins Maple Almond Butter today (I was waiting to finish my 2 current jars) and I’m scared that it might be that good as well!

Let’s add Nutella to that list as well.
