![We were on a break... but I'm back and I have a huge ANNOUNCEMENT!!
First, I want to explain myself a bit. And please note, because it's relevant... I'm not someone who apologizes for not posting.
I don't feel obligated to explain myself - I want to share in case you feel like the sky will fall if you don't post for a day or a week or a month.
I've been blogging and then podcasting for 10 years (!!).
I love to joke and overshare! I love that some of you have followed me for years & I feel like I know you too.
I've shared the BEST and most heart-breaking days of my life on RunEatRepeat.com. ❤💔
And over the years I've learned how to step back from negativity and keep my balance.
But last month I was a lot more anxious than usual. Then, a series of technical issues on a bad day led to a mini-melt down.
I realized - Nope.
This isn't worth crying over.
Get some perspective Monica. If you're about to have an anxiety attack - take a step back.
I uninstalled the app intending to take a walk, eat some ice cream and reinstall the next day.
But after a good sleep & a good run I realized a legit break would be good healthy. Since I started RER I've never taken more than a week off - not even when I've traveled internationally.
So even though I couldn't take a real vacation, I took a vacation from IG - an app that I've checked multiple times a day for years.
I Learned:
1. Give yourself a break when needed. Rest and days off are part of any long term plan. Learn to rest when needed - not to push yourself until you quit! --- This can be applied to running, work, life...👟🤸🏽♀️🔁
2. It's inconsiderate to go MIA - especially when the world is extra scary. I didn't think it was a big deal to take a break. Then, I started to get emails and texts from followers wondering if I died and if so - could they have Diego? 🐶 💌
3. I missed you! I missed sharing funny gifs in my stories & seeing your reaction. I think instagram is one of the best ways to quickly check-in with friends who live far away (or nearby but you can't see irl rn).
So I'm back! And I appreciate your support and concern and love of Diego. Thank you.
